My v un-impressive contribution...

1. 1979 1.3 Datsun Sunny (beige - for the ladies). In retrospect it had a crap coolness about it, that being said i was v embarrased by it as was never v cool at school - was my late uncle's and he still had some of the plastic covering on the rear seats. It had also been written off before i had it after being squashed between 2 hgvs when one failed to stop.
2. Use of father's 1989 3.6 Jaguar xj40 (cheaper to insure than my mate's Nissan Micra when19 ... until written off when wheel came off)
3. Use of 1990 4.0 Jaguar xj40. Loved it - only realised had been clocked when hit 100k and odo displayed 200k. I shed a silent tear when had to go after failed mot, it had been part of some epic adventures.
4. 2001 3.2 Jaguar xj8. This is my late father's last car so will never get rid of it. It is also my 'sensible car' for when need 4 seats.
5. 2004 3.0i Z4 v recent purchase and known as the "MLCM" by my friends who i no longer drive around (Mid-Life Crisis Mobile).

Otherwise i have a vespa lx50 for getting to work - the fastest vehicle on the forum!*

Any excuse to post a few photos...

First car at 16/17, 1980 Mini Convertible which I restored

DCP04703.jpg

17/18, 1991 Mini Cooper 1275 on a carb. I restored this from a Cat C, fire damaged car

COOPER%2525202.jpg

COOPER%25252010.jpg

COOPER%2525207.jpg

18/19 I went a bit boring and bought a 1999 VW Golf Mk4 1.6. No photos of that!

19/20 I bought a Celica 1.8 VVTi Sport. Really nice car which I got for a bargain. Loved this car and felt very lucky when I could afford one at a young age as these hadn't been out long at the time

DSCN3659.jpg

DSCN3669.jpg

I then bought another accident damaged car at the age of 21

DSCN4690.jpg

And another...

DSCN4937.jpg

And another...

DSC_0827.jpg

DSC_2105.jpg

Then I needed to release some money, so I bought this, 1.8 Astra Convertible, bit pants really but still wanted a convertible, but also 4 seats. Lost track at what age I was when I bought this, I changed cars so often at around 21/22 years old

DSC_5247.jpg

DSC_5248%252520%2525281%252529.jpg

I then bought this new toy! So I needed a car to tow it. I wanted performance, practicality and 4 wheel drive, so the Audi S4 it was. A perfect tow car, if a little heavy on fuel! I was around 23 when I bought this.

20090726_115752.jpg

20090726_115818.jpg

It was wonderful for camping!

20090821_104256.jpg

Then an upgrade. Slightly tuned and much quicker than the silver one, at the age of 24

DSC_0639%252520%2525286%252529.jpg

DSC_0621%252520%2525284%252529.jpg

Then I decided the S4 was just too heavy on fuel, so at 25 I bought this. Octavia VRS TDi. It was an excellent car and had a lot of options and kit fitted. I really enjoyed owning this car...

And finally, at the age of 26 the Z4M. My girlfriend and I had been gettig away with one car for ages, but she finally decided to buy a Civic for day to day activities, carting bikes and things around, so it gave me the opportunity to buy a 2 seater sports car! I sold the boat to make way for the BMW! It's 2006, 30,000 miles, immaculate and has a few options. I'm loving it so far. Not hugely quicker than the blue S4, but a much more linear power delivery due to the lack of turbos and much more of a handful!

Wow! Some very nice cars here.

I don't have such a distinguished history. Here goes anyway, I will try and add some photos later.

1. Mini 1275GT - total rust bucket, wings were held together with body filler.

2. Ford Fiesta - nice runaround until the cambelt snapped.

3. Triumph GT6 (1976) - My favourite car. I actually got wet when it rained! Straight 6 cyclinder, very fast but the brakes were not good.

4. Lotus Elise S1 (2000) - in mustard yellow, mint condition until a brick wall appeared from nowhere.

5. Mini Cooper (2002) - hard ride and expensive run flats.

6. Fiat 500 (2008) - full leather, big alloys, nice stereo, very nippy 6 speed. I wish I kept this one.

7. BMW Z4 2.0 (2007) - in black, so far so good!

2 litres wasn't enough, made me buy:

This was a freebie from an emigrating family member:

Which was promptly traded for this bundle of fun:

A bit of a trend appearing in that quite a few of us have owned 225 TT's (and a couple of Puma's in there with my FRP) 8)

01. Audi 100 - Actually my father's car, but it was the first car I ever drove. I hated every bit of it: it was big, slow and difficult to drive
02. Suzuki Swift - A car my mother bought that I could drive too. Actually had a lot of fun in that car although it was probably the most unsafe car in the world
03. BMW E30 318i - My first car I ever bought, 11 years old, had it for a year and was really a decent car
04. Volkswagen Golf III TDI (2000) - Aaaah, the younger years... driving with my windows down and the music way too loud
05. Toyota Yaris Diesel (2002) - My ex-wife's first company car made me sell my Golf...
06. Volkswagen Golf IV (2004) - My ex-wife's second company car
07. Renault Clio III (2007) - My very first company car! For me, it was really a great car to drive and very comfortable... but I wasn't used to much either
08. BMW 1-series (2008) - My second company car, absolutely loved it!
09. Volkswagen Sharan (2009) - Switched jobs and got this one, didn't really have a choice... It was very practical and comfortable... but soooo ugly
10. Lancia Delta II (2010) - Switched jobs again, went back to my previous employer and got this one, absolutely loved this car.
11. Mercedes-Benz C180 (2011) - My 5th company car, "the sensible one", didn't have it very long...
12. BMW X1 2WD (2011) - My current company car, love this car, really great to drive
13. BMW Z4 2.5i (2011) - My very first weekend car for sun and fun - didn't have it long but enjoyed it a lot
14. Porsche 911 C4 convertible (996 model) (2011) - My very first weekend car for sun and fun - Insane car, had a lot of engine trouble with it
15. BMW Z4 2.2i (2012) - My current weekend car, did a lot of mods to it, lovely car :)
