I have considered going back to Porsche a few time. 2 reasons that I haven't. The local Porsche dealer is just terrible and I won't do business with them. I would need to travel nearly 100 miles or more round trip for a better Porsche dealer. The other reason is the service cost are outrageous and there is not a good independent repair shop in my area. The local BMW dealer is excellent and in addition there is one good independent BMW repair/service shop in the area as well. That said there are time I really miss the 911 experience. It's a great car...

Surprised me too - but as we speak its sitting in the BMW garage yet again having a fault diagnosed....
Since owning.. 18 months ago:
Windscreen wiper replaced
New exhaust manifold
Oil leak fixed
New vacuum pump
Broke down - needed new fuel injector
Reverse parking sensor packed in
Central locking on drivers door stopped working last week
Now emissions light back on again
And since new according to the last owner its also had both rear springs replaced and a new CD changer installed after the last one packed in.
Add to this that sometimes the CD comes out of the slot then goes back in, sometimes the windows go up then go back down thinking they have hit something, and sometimes the dashboard lights dim right down then come back on all by themselves - to say i'm disappointed in the Z4 would be an understatement lol!
Looking back over the years, my first Corolla GTi I owned I had absolutely no problems with until at 176,000 miles the head gasket needed replacing - and the mechanic said the engine was in tip top shape.
I dunno, maybe its modern cars - too many electronics, sensors and all that stuff to go wrong!! Needless to say come the summer I shall be changing the car and going back to Japanese!

My car history 
First car, 2008 - Citroen saxo desire :lol:

The car came with optional extras such as an automatic boot function which would open randomly at 70mph (yes it took around 3 days to reach 70)
The water feature being my personal favourite. Coming home from 2 weeks abroad to find the inside of my car flooded. The seals on the sunroof were terrible, the slightest bit of rain meant everyone inside ended up soaked :lol:
second car, 2008 still..

Wasn't too bad this car, not the quickest but insurance was a nightmare at the time. This car came to an end whilst visiting york. Towed back by the AA, quick fix and it went to auction. :|
