Mcoupe

I've been looking at other cars( an F type and masserati grand turismo) but an Mcoupe for sale by a forum member has got me thinking,
Will an M be more fun than the above?
Will i loose less on the resale in a few years?
Any info much appreciated

Waaaaaaay too many variables above for anyone to give you a answer that would reflect real life experience .
Many don't consider loss in value or cost of ownership when choosing their cars but clearly you do so your criteria is very different .
Worth outlining the possible ZMC Re miles / price as 9 times out of 10 the price you pay initially ( along with duration of ownership ) has most effect on loss of ££ through depreciation

Yes.

I suppose it depends how you like your fun!

Personally I'm still a big fan of a manual gearbox in a sports car, which is why I just bought an M Coupe.

I would recommend trying one, but be prepared to want one once you have.

Mcoupe all the way from your options. The others are too grown up for me, still. May be when I'm really old.

After hearing a squadron of V8 F types leaving caffeine and machine the other week, they sounded anything but grown up :D

I reckon a nice rwd V8 would be a lot of fun. Pretty much twice the price of a Z4MC and probably a bit more to lose in value. You only live once though!

The Maserati Gran Turismo is one of my favourite cars but totally different and considerably more expensive than a Z4MC. I bet you need a very large wallet to run and maintain one, and being Italian, probably will need plenty of trips to the stealers.

Totally different cars, and at totally different stages in there lives and price points.

Never owned a Maserati,i have owned most things but m not that mental... They go wrong a lot and are astronomical to repair.

I loved my Z4MC.... It was a flawed genius, the suspension is crap, gearbox isnt great and it costs a lot of money to run if your using it as a daily like i did.It did look lovely though and i would have another as long as it was right money with right spec..

I now have a F type..

It costs twice as much as the coupe, but then again its 9 years newer,so it will lose more money...Its in other area's where the jag could save you money.

Mine is mapped and is around 400bhp,The 8 speed gearbox works very well and is a nice place to be.The tech is obviously a lot newer, fit and finish is nice.
You could easily bang in a 400 miler and get out fresh, whereas the coupe would need you calling a Chiropractor.
It would leave the coupe for dead in most places, they are suprisingly fast

Its pretty frugal, doing around 22mpg on the commute and can crack 40 mpg on a run. Its also much cheaper to tax and insure than the Coupe.

Servicing bounces between £330 and £430 on opposing years (Jaguar main dealer) ..In fact parts are cheap in comparison with no "M" tax... Front pads and discs are £200 for example from the dealers,as opposed to £500 or so for Coupe.

Bad points... Handling isnt cutting edge, feels rolly in comparison although the steering feels greats and nicely weighted.
Tyres are big and expensive being 19's or 20's being the popular choices, you can get 18's on the boggo spec ones, but they look crap.

All in all,2 very different cars that you need to drive to see which one suits.

Thankyou, good to hear that from someone who owns an F type, i think i'll discount the masserati, i thought they'd be costly to run but it seems that big bills would be a regular thing, it's looking like it'll be the F type for me, they look so good

An F type was on my list recently, what swayed me elsewhere was another totally non hardcore Coupe with leather & most of the very latest gizmos, 19 delivery miles on the clock at £15k under list.

I recon if it stays a low miler, I can run it for a year & basically sell it for what I paid...
