MC and MR for sale

It’s hard work and time consuming breaking a car. Then instead of dealing with one buyer. You are suddenly dealing with 10-20 buyers. And you think you’ve had timewasters now?! Try selling multiple parts……

I think a proper advert on autotrader/eBay etc at £10995 and this would be gone.

Thanks j3nks79, sounds like you are commenting from a position of experience.

I ran a specialty M3 garage for years and bought and sold 75+ a year. Plus took in px etc and sold them on.

Buyers are still about. A friend of mine just sold his Z4M coupe. Black on black with 120k for £15k. So not the most desirable colour combo.
But it sold within 48 hours because he priced it right for the market.
2 or 3 years ago it would have been £18k.
The market is the market and this is what they are selling at now.
Yes they may go back up again in a few years when interest rates cost of living improves etc.

Thanks again j3nks79, as you say it’s a tough market out there and as also mentioned, all cars sell if priced accordingly. I’ll drop the prices to 11k and 15k 👍 and see if that sparks any interest.

On the subject of time wasters, I wonder how many would be happy to pay a nominal sum, say £20, to be able to test drive the car, refundable if they go ahead and buy?

I suspect that would be a real "law of unintended consequences" situation... people who might feel guilty about coming to test drive a car they have no intention of buying will instead think "if I'm paying for a drive then I'm paying for a drive, and it's none of the sellers business if I have no money and no intention to buy".

Maybe higher then at £50

Don't agree at all. I wouldn't dream of wasting someone's time test driving a Z4M when I have no intention of buying one.

But if there was one for sale locally I would be very tempted to pay £50 for a 15 minute test drive, to help me decide whether a Z4M should be part of the 2-5 year plan or not!

Any cash payment risks putting off serious buyers, and small cash payments risk encouraging tyre kickers, IMHO.

There was a story about a nursery that had a big problem with parents turning up 15 or 20 minutes late to pick up their kids, so they introduced fines. End result - late collections increased because parents stopped feeling guilty and just regarded the fine as paying for an extra 30-60 mins of childcare. I suspect charging for test drives would be similar.

Takes about that to warm up properly. I used to drive mine to work daily and the oil temp gauge was nearly as accurate as my sat nav time to destination! 🤣

Good luck with them Simon.
Both lovely cars

I’ve met Simon a couple of times and he really knows his Z4’s.

I’ve seen the E86 at a breakfast meet a couple of months ago and I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with it. Looked mint.

KW V3 is high end suspension and far superior to anything any Z4 left the factory with. Genuine Apex alloys, worth a small fortune on their own, rod bearings done and very few cars this age are in original paint completely now.

If I had the garage space I’d be genuinely interested in this car.

Best of luck with the sale

I can also vouch for Simon, very much an aficionado of the Z4 group especially when he's running 3 Ms concurrently.

I haven't seen the Sepang coupe yet but have seen the roadster and coupe many times and they are very good examples. Simon is very knowledgable, there isnt much he doesn't know and his cars are a credit to him. Some of the mods are worth a lot on their own and really make these stand out.

Cars aren't always what the paper may tell you. Both of these cars are in excellent condition and have been restored to a very high level and are in better condition that cars ive seen with half the milage and that includes mine.

If anyone is interested these certainly are cars id have at the top of my list.

I really hope you don't break the imola as it is one of the best colours and an excellent car.

Bang on there, kw v3 and arc 8s are worth a few k on their own, the expensive jobs are done, the car is ready to be enjoyed, it's a flipping steal at 15k and if I had the money I'd be on it like a tramp on chips!

Edit: I should also say Simon is an absolute gent, been chatting to him on and off for a while now - the pics of the work he does on the cars speaks for itself, both these cars are well sorted and a credit to him, a great buy for any potential new owner!

As the market appears to have stopped, it looks like I’ll be breaking the Imola - I will put a list up of parts as I will want committed buys first so I can sort it quickly.
That’s bonkers. I did send you a semi-interested PM a couple of weeks ago but no reply? If I can raise any interest in my 3.0i, my interest in your Imola will go up exponentially.

Yes you did and thank you however, respectfully, until you have advertised / sold your car there’s no real point in taking things further.
Hi Simon, presumably I am no.4 on your list “One guy stating he’s a known time waster”. I actually used the phrase “notorious ditherer” which is not the same thing at all. I have bought 4 different Z4s since 2020 and have had more than one on the drive at a time. I may or may not buy your Z4 but hopefully you will reply to the genuine questions I raised on my PM.

To return the favour Zedebee did for me - and being 100% truthful at the same time - I have met Zedebee in person and VERY MUCH doubt he's someone with nothing better to do than waste people's time on cars he has no genuine interest in.

Hopefully that SOLD sign in one of the pics will prove prophetic 🤞

GLWTS Simon, this will be a cracking buy for someone
