thanks for the tip cj.. Once it hardens tomorrow i'll sand those bits down.
Do the retaining spings just pull out? I'd rather spray them off the car instead of using a fine brush.

cj10jeeper said:Use an old chisel or similar to simply scrape the faces clean.
The clips need pressing forward towards the centre of the axle then just pop out. Take care not to damage your new paint.

You can get a wire brush that goes in a drill chuck
Good for cleaning them up, no need to remove them
