Marmite for sale

It was probably a decent car before it was attacked with an angle grinder and welding kit.

BMW engineers and body designers have little to fear!

in his defence i don't think he ever asked for donations

That quite right... He was a chap who stumbled upon hard times and someone else said lets donate.

The power of the forum... And while we may not have approved of the mods it was an interesting project and he had to sell it eventually.

Just a shame he never came back on here and said he was... Or ever engraved the people who donated under the bonnet... As he said he would!

Technically we paid for new wheels after the original ones Brad bought were stolen. I'd like to disassociate myself from anything else that happened to the car ;)

Shame it's died, but also not a shame in a way...

No, he never asked for anything and, like Bing said, his workshop got broken into and stuff was stolen.

It would have been the right thing for him to come on here and update us.
Of course he's not obliged to but it would have been the right thing to do.

This was all before my time although I have read a bit about it after following a link in JE's turbo thread.

What I don't get about the listing is his comment RE the alloys...

These alloys alone are worth North of £2,000. I can sell with or without them if you prefer?

What does that actually mean? Is he going to add an extra £2k on to the final price if you want to drive it away on the wheels? Do you knock £2k off if you win the auction and don't want them? Are the wheels sold separately and the money goes back to those who donated? A bit to vague for an auction which is supposedly a legally binding contract between seller and the winning bidder... Although looking at his eBay feedback he clearly doesn't care about that, interestingly he's been called a scammer on there.....

Enjoyed following the original thread especially for El Taco and Brad`s pretty lady friends.

This at least gives someone else a chance to sprinkle some magic onto the car and you never know it could eventually turn out to be one of the most desirable Zed`s ever made.

By chance did you sprinkle crack on your cornflakes this morning instead of sugar

Sad that we weren't told about this. The concern and support from the forum deserves the courtesy of letting us know what's happening.
Disappointing

I guess people don't think like that. Plus it's his car, he can do as he wants. Shame it wasn't ever completed but it always looked in a bit of a sorry state. All that money spent on it, it was never going to be reclaimed.

I think I was maybe being a little too optimistic about it! :D

Who on eath would give "north of £2000" for them wheels.?

They are a bit s**t,and wouldnt fit on hardly anything.

Its reached £3100 and he should rip someones arms off....

Its a shame Brad is selling up and never finished the car. I have meet him a few times and he seemed a nice bloke. He is not or did not scam the forum i do not believe that was ever his intention.

He grew up got a girlfriend moved out of home. And i guess there just isn't time or money to finish the car. So many cars get started the reason so few get finished is the fact it costs a lot in money and time. Usually a whole heap more of both. I dont think he had the best help from the guy doing the body work. And Brad never said but i dont think it turned out quite how he was expecting it to.

It would have been nice for him to pop back in and say it was up for sale. But he has not life goes on.

I am very surprised its reached the price it has to be honest. The car IMO still need a lot of work. And a lot of work undoing and doing again correctly.

In other news if you as a forum want to all chip in and help me with my own turbo build. I really wouldn't mind

I don't think he was scamming the forum either it's just that having received that kind of help it might have been appropriate to let us all know the project had stalled and he was getting shut - life moves on, we all understand that, shame he didn't think to put us in the picture.

Sponsored turbo build - you're a better investment MM

Turbo build. . . . now where else have we come across this mod . . . . :?

Well i shall let you set up the sponsorship than

It dose sound familiar. But it will be done at my own dodgy looking workshop. To my own time scale. And by my own hands. So if it goes pair shaped i will be the only one i can blame.
