It's landed. More or less £6K for the manual "package" which includes M trimmed cognac seats, different wheels, red callipers etc. Only available in Frozen Deep Green although there is another new metallic green colour (Sanremo) available if ordering an auto.

Looks like you cant add the driver assistance pack with active cruise control the manual too. Assuming this is auto only?

Odd choice to only allow one colour, select anything it removes the manual.

As this is supposedly not a limited edition and will be on sale to the end of production it’s not beyond the thought that this green is a launch edition and other colour options will follow later

As someone who’s owned three green cars and likes light leather I quite like it :)

Interestingly both the US and German Configurators show the manual available in a range of colours

https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/usa/article/attachment/T0439243EN_US/610903

Available in 7 metallics and one solid ( white ) plus the frozen green which is unique to the manual and not available on the auto

Here’s a manual specced in thundernight for €7k more than the auto

Looks brilliant to me.

But... at that price, if you're buying, it's hard to ignore a 718 4.0 GTS that costs a bit more but seems to not depreciate.

Should be a fantastic used proposition in a few years, if anyone buys one new.

Well it took them long enough - Toyota were selling manual Supras last year!

One colour combination only is a strange idea though. :? Hopefully that is just a launch model and other colours will be offered later.

So a green and brown manual G29 for 'just' £6k more than a (normally more expensive) auto?
Can't help but admire the marketing boys' spin. Cognac interior has NEVER been popular (although I like it as have had it); and Green???
Exclusive and rare it will be!

Maybe BMW don't really want to make them, but have been pressured into offering it, so have come up with the most ridiculous package to make sure no-one ever orders one!

Just looked on the configurator: £63k for an 'army green' Z4 with "hand shandy" pack? :o

Yes, adaptive cruise is only possible on auto cars.

Why's that then, Ted?
Adaptive uses radar, that I do know. Why does a gearbox affect that?
Waste of technology IME. THE most annoying thing on any car I've owned with it.

Who’s Ted…?

Something to do with dipping the clutch for a length of time if I remember correctly…could be wrong of course. :driving:

I love adaptive cruise. It’s even better on the loan car I have now which is idrive 8 and does the steering too. Monitors cars to the side of you so reacts better when cars jump in front of you.

Btw I like both greens although frozen isn’t for me. I might look at ordering a new car if I can get a good deal and really haven’t got a clue what colour I would go for. I love the missno blue I have, but the new blue is nice. Then the new grey is lovely too, but doesn’t pop like a blue or purple or now green.

Need to see one in the metal.

Love the green and cognac, it's like they made it just for me. I'd agree it won't be a big seller though!

I drove an Audi with adaptive cruise recently - absolutely hate it. But then I'm the sort of person who'll get angry with a car for suggesting when to change gear, so it's likely me that's the problem rather than the adaptive cruise...

Green exterior with cognac interior only…so far….cant think of a worse combo…

Coloured ppf it and re-trim the interior….

….or just buy a GTS 4.0…. :driving:

TBF to the Germans it is a very British combo

Im quite partial to green and tan but the frozen green not so much just a faf to look after and I dont really like the finish, cognac in the flesh is a bit of an odd colour. Little bit like Porsche savanna, not a fan either.

I’m not a fan of cognac interior, but I think it looks quite nice in the zed.

An old classic Aston in British racing green or whatever shade it is is quite far from a modern bmw…. :D

But yes, those Evo pics are not bad actually….still wouldn’t have one in it, along with the red calipers too its all a bit of a mess, 5/10

Frozen or a dark mineral grey with black pack and silver calipers would be epic….imho…:D

It’s a shame they’ve so far limited it to this combo only as there are tweaks to the chassis and steering which may well make this car a perfect alternative to a Boxster or another rival who want a manual.

A bit of a disappointment for me really. I've been looking forward to this launch for ages but frozen green and brown seats....
I configured one on the .de configurator in metallic Sanremo Green/ivory with black wheels and it looks fabulous.
