Glad I told them not to bother cleaning mine.![]()
Shocking.mmm-five said:Despite a stern letter last time it happened, a permanent note on my file, and a 'do not wash' tag on the keyring the dealer decided to wash my car once again - and this time there's scratches to go along with the swirls![]()
This time however I wasn't going to let them get away with it and immediately nabbed one of the dealer principals, who has promised to rectify the situation.
It was picked up this morning to be taken to their bodyshop, and I've been given a diesel loan car in the interim.
It's also been mentioned that if the bodyshop do a quick/substandard job then I'll be taking it to my normal detailer to get it rectified, with the bill going to the dealer.
Stay tuned...
I did voice my concerns about this to the DP at the time, but he asked that I give them the opportunity to rectify it themselves first.playalistic said:Shocking.
I can almost be certain it's going to come back from the bodyshop with buffer trails and holograms and all sorts of nastiness if my experience is anything to go by. I'd call your detailer and have them book you in provisionally!
#1 is covered with the notes on my file, the job sheet, the pick-up/delivery sheet, and a 'do not wash' tag on the keyring.AlanJ said:Two simple rules:
1. Tell them not to wash it and get them to put it on the service 'in' sheet.
2. Before you leave your vehicle get the service reception guy/girl to go round you vehicle and check it.

Wasn't disagreeing with your methodology. Exactly how I would have played it out too. Fingers crossed it just gets sorted first time round by them.mmm-five said:I did voice my concerns about this to the DP at the time, but he asked that I give them the opportunity to rectify it themselves first.playalistic said:Shocking.

I didn't really want to argue as if I give them the opportunity & they fail, I'll be in a stronger position to negotiate a proper job. If I'd tried to do this from the start it might have just been seen as my trying it on. So they've got one chance to fix it before I take it somewhere else - and it was due it's detail next month anyway.
I'm planning on taking my xenon torch with me to run over the paintwork to show them any problems.playalistic said:Wasn't disagreeing with your methodology. Exactly how I would have played it out too. Fingers crossed it just gets sorted first time round by them.![]()
) was happy though as I asked body shop manager to put on notes not to clean car
