So not a good idea to use them on your seats then? Not too sure I want matt finished seats....

The seat leather started off mostly though didn't it :?

Absolutely right, go to a dealership and tell me how many new vehicles have shiny leather?!

Ok ok my bad. Well any comments on it's best use then as a few of the above comments seem to say if you have any small scuff's then keep it well clear. Is there any prep you can do to prevent that?

The sponge will remove the muc k which will no doubt show any faults. At this pint you can repair the damage and oor treat with a leather conditioner.

Ok. I used this earlier in the week on my seats and steering wheel. A few observations :

- It returned the steering wheel to a matte condition
- It returned the seat leather to a matte condition - bit scary as it was very dull, however...
- Application of Megs gold class cleaner / conditioner brightened it back up and now looks ace

So far so good 8)

Couple of negatives -

- As noted above, any scuffs or cracks are now more evident - it is after all and abrasive, so I should have expected this :|
- It has not cleaned all the dirt out of the natural grain of the leather - this is a touch annoying as it's the main reason I did it :|

So, conclusions -

- Works a treat to re-matte the leather, but needs a conditioner after use
- I think I still need to get some proper leather cleaner to try and lift the dirt out of the grain
- I will now need to re-do the dye-job I did on the seat back bolster before as it has removed the repair dye... Admittedly I rushed it and it wasn't a great job in the first place. The re-dye I did on the base bolster has survived though, so I think perhaps level of enthusiasm ousting the sponge makes a big difference to the result.

Not used it on anything else yet but I have some marks on the plastic at the front of the soft top that I will try it on when I remember.

Cheers Bing, very helpful feedback, think I will go and grab some conditioner this weekend and give the seats a proper going over....

mine are sitting here waiting to be used... i want to do a repair tho too as the bolster and gear knob are worn so i might wait till i do that first.

To be honest, I'd use the sponge first as it cleans up the damaged areas in a way that will give the dyes plenty of purchase

Otherwise you could end up n the same place as me, having to do it again...
