Magazine feature...

I think a few people on here know that my car was photographed for a magazine recently, here in the UK. They followed a mate and I on a trip to the Nurburgring and the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, with a view to writing an article from a "modified Z4M goes back to where it was developed" slant.

Well, I've spoken to the magazine today and they say that the feature is now all complete. It's due to be in the January issue, which is out on the 12th December, just in time for Xmas! I've seen a few of the feature layourts/photos and they look fantastic! Really chuffed with how it's come out.

Obviously it might not hold as much interest for other people as it does me, as it's my car in the magazine, but I'm hoping it will be a good read all the same!

The magazine doing the article is, wait for it... Max Power. I know to most people that name conjurs up images of huge bodykitted Vauxhall Corsas with lairy paint jobs and sound systems, but over the last 6 months, they've been redesigning the magazine, and it holds more of a "EVO-for-modified-cars" feel now. See here for a preview of this months issue, and a feel for the direction they are trying to head.

Anyway, I will post in here nearer the issue release date - but thought I'd give you all a heads up. :)

Achievement: Probably passing my a-levels

Does this have another meaning???

I used to read max Power when it first came out and must say I grew out of it a some years ago, i think if they are heading in a different direction they may well appeal to a more mature market, I'm not saying i will buy it just yet but i will have a peek at Sixspeed's feature on a shelf where i won't be seen looking at it.... :D

Well it sounds really cool. Along with the others I used to read MP regularly, when I was at Uni in '93 I used to love the day when it came out. When MP started it was a really original publication and they used to feature some great modded cars.

I must admit to not even picking it up in the newsagent for a number of years, but I'll be buying this issue to read your feature, and if it's any good maybe I'll keep buying it afterwards too, I never realised they had re-launched it.

Hey six speed, I love what you have done with the car, beautiful fit and finish. So what kind of HP / quarter mile numbers are you putting up now?

I recall buying the first edition of Max Power c.1993 and continued buying it until it evolved into a soft porn diluted car magazine and hence a feeble attempt at simultanouesly publishing for two distinct markets. I resumed buying Car magazine. Far better to shell out a few extra quid for Car or Performance Car and Playboy magazines if you want both.
Can you imagine the Late great LJK Setright asking eighteen year old Joanne if she spits or swallows?
I hope Max Power is changing, otherwise the apperance of a Z4 will only expidite the progress of the depreciation curve.

i used to buy max power as a young boy racer dreaming of all the modded cars when i only had a lowly xr2 on a D reg!! i grew outa it like most on here once i graduated to my 1984 ur quattro abet it was only the ten valve but it was still a great car.i wouldnt even give it a second glance now but it will be interesting to see your feature sixspeed so i might just splash £3.50 worth of my hard earned cash or how ever much it is these days..........

 ... they don't know the difference between Beemer & Bimmer

...looking forward to the article
