Starscream, thanks for the heads up on the shift bezel. Is the grief over the door handles because of trying to avoid folds/wrinkles? How does one get the door handle off...just those screws and nothing else magical I hope?

Its a lot of stretching the fabric over the "handle" part,
It attaches by numerous clips, try not to break them! and by 2 screws from the back, So yes the door panel has to come off,
the leather armrest is just held by clips too, just lift it off, no screws
Good luck! The handles were the hardest on the E46 I did
