Machine monkeys zed

Ok Chris if you want some tips I can sort that out in the next few weeks

I think you could be right Gav. I am planing a bit of tinting of my ginger so I might cut them down at the same time.

Stung No 1 spot is yours. I don't know a price on them yet as I will be yet. I need to pay a guy to do the etching so it depends what he wants. What would you like on them?

Thanks Nick I think anthracite will be nice.

I tinted mine too, I just used a film on them.
I'm only keeping the ginger on the front, I've got full red back lights

That sounds like a good idea Stug  once I start these yours will be first.
Thanks buddy. Just give me a shout and I will transfer some cash over.

Little update i gave the car a good clean Sunday. And i was quite depressed after  I dont have one panel that is any good. I have bubbly paint different colour paint scratches you name it my zed has it!! So i am going to have to spend some time and money on her this year. In the spirit of this car I will be doing it myself. I have a compressor and i have most of the tools. Just need to practice and read up a bit first. The other option is to wrap it but i am not keen on that really.

I have been saving hard and i have a few ££ to spend on the car. And after driving our new Audi then the zed. It became 100% Obvious something is not right. It pulls left then right and has the symptoms of the sticky steering. I am not convinced it is 100% down to the sticky steering. And that the geometry is way out. And that the lower universal joint on the steering rack is part of the problem. I am going to put new track rod ends on and then referb the rear axel (i have allready replaced all the front bushes)

I am going to put new track rod ends on and then refurbish the rear axle (i have already replaced all the front bushes) And i have fully adjustable coil overs. So i will know that all the bushes are ok and then get a full hunter alignment done. I am hopping it makes a difference. I love the car but its driving like a dog!!

So whats quite exciting i will be ordering my LSD as part of the rear end overhaul. This and all new suspension i hope changes the feel of the car to how i want. If not i might :fuelfire: But seriously if its still not right i will try the lower steering column change and the drilling into the upper column mod. If these dont fix the problems i am having i will be a very grumpy monkey.

Once she is all mechanically sound i will helpfully be doing a Brembo caliper swap. Then sort all the paint out. So its going to be a busy year!!

Hear are our cars on the drive (finishing the driveway is also on the list of jobs this year)

Yep still naked up front but will be changing that soon i think. To be honest once its mechanically sound and the paint work tidy. That will be it i dont have a desire to do much else. Just want to enjoy it on track a few times a year and a few drifting days.

I might but that's way down the list of things to do. I still have the workshop to finish and the drive way there is just not enough hours in the day. I might have to try giving up sleep!!

Right just ordered Meyle
control arms
track rods
Rear trailing arm bushes
Diff bushes
And rear sub mount bushes

Just about to order a Mfactory helical LSD time to get the spanners out!!!

BLOODY HELL!!! I have done it LSD ordered that didn't take long to spend nearly a thousand £££££ this morning GULP!!!

Think i have done a deal on some skid wheels as well...... Hopefully have some drifting videos to post at some point in the future!!

Yep cant blooming wait

As a side note i brought the bushes from c3BMW Great service really helpful and they know there onions. All so grinspeed Yorkie Z will back me up on this are great and very helpful.

Blimey! Sudden surge of money into it! Brave move! Looks like you'll need those bigger stoppers with the planned track days etc!

Well after just spending all my mod budget the braces will have to wait. And as they work i am in no rush to do mine but we will get yours done Rob dont panic!!

I have had some time off most jobs recently. Just a very annoying pain in the ass exhaust mod job!! But i feel good to start going on finishing the workshop and the drive way. Once that's done i can play with the car a bit. I will hopefully be getting the machines in next weekend then that's all the monies i have in the world spent :( :(

So in other monkey news.... I am planing on changing my exhaust system. I am going to make a full proper quad conversion for my car. X pipe in the middle then a pipe either side almost straight through i will have a small silencer on each side in true penny pinching form i will be attempting to make it all myself the x pipe and the silencers!! So i am not going to do a for sale thread for my quad as i dont want to

A.put pressure on myself to get this done.
B. a price on my quad.

The reason i am changing is just i want a proper quad. If you want a cheap quad conversion let me know and it can be yours at some point.....

QUAD1_zpsbc826a65.jpg
QUAD2_zps7d50277f.jpg
QUAD4_zps199c7710.jpg

So as you can see its a diy job. It also has the bypass mod done.

Where did you order the LSD from?

Mine's going to Grinspeed to get one fitted on April 14th... counting down the days!
