Machine monkeys zed

So I have just done a thing calls pure rally. I didn't get involved in all the partying stuff just the driving. 820 miles in 3 days and I have driven from Liverpool to Newcastle and then back to Oxford today. And I spent all day yesterday jousting with a 650s and he didn't get away from  he was shocked to find out it has a standard engine and not an M lol I will post pictures farther a sleep!!

Looks a decent event, like a budget gumball rally.

Your front plate is sending my OCD into overdrive! Sort a proper front plate  it's letting the car down

Just had a look on their site it looks a good run out I wouldn't mind doing the coast run.

Did it start and finish at the Ace? Did you do the driving on your own MM or did you take a mate?

Thats about the long and short of it. Still cost me a few quid about £600 all in.

Sorry mate more important things to worry about than that!! Hopefully piping up to see Andy soon. So I will try and sort it before I do if you coming for a drive.

Yes I might book up for a coast run the only problem I would have is not going for a good drink up in the evening

Must have been funny when matey in the 650 couldn't lose you

While we r on the subject of adding things to your car I have a 2.5 se 54 plate I am thinking of having my z remapped I've been told it will increase bhp from 194 -210 and torque 245-275 as any one had a remapp r these figures about right and when you hit sport button do you still get extra boost after remapp has been done

Thanks Gav looking forward to it

Andy we didn't do all the going out stuff. Me and the father in law just stayed in the hotel for a few quite beers. I did all the driving so had to stay safe.

Marlon has had a re map on his 3.0si and he seems happy. Remapping non turbo engines normally sees little gains. But dose improve drive ability. I dont doubt there is a benefit. The sport button dose not actually give you more power. It adjusts the amount power to pedal movement say 75% full throttle at 50% pedal movement apposed to 50-50

It does make it "feel" as though it has more power. My sport button is always on. Makes the car more responsive/fun to drive and I don't seem to get as much interference from the CDV (must delete this sometime).

I always used to turn it on. But have got used to driving without it. I like the steering and kless reactive throttle pedal. It helps to modulate the throttle when on the limit.

So i meet up with Kris last night to pick up my clutch kit. What a nice guy and what a great z4 Very nice mods done very well. And i am very jellouse of his engine and engine bay!! So hear is the kit

Seems a shame to have such a pretty lump of metal hidden in the gearbox!

I get what your saying it is a looker. But i had a little play with the one Kris has in his. And its worth doing. The clutch felt sharp clean and easy to use. And the engine. Well it revs a fair bit quicker i cant wait to fit it and try it.

Thanks chap's for the input on remapping think I might stay with what I've got and just add a few mods and enjoy

This is it folks. Sport button, Schmort button. "Feels..." etc. No gain unless you have genuinely a poorly ankle or foot/leg in general. No offence to anyone but the point should be recognised, at least as far as throttle pedal travel is concerned. Not sure about steering, dampers etc but from a throttle perspective, this (button) is just the lazy man's option. Everything you get from the button can be achieved with your foot, it just requires slightly more foot-related dexterity (is there a word for foot dexterity?)

Haha. You may have hit the nail on head or foot so to speak. I have broken my right ankle 3 times and have 70% movement in it compared to the other.... :poke:

Surely there must be one hundred threads on this?! Can I ask: does the suspension/steering alter at all?? I genuinely don't know...and am too lazy to search at present
