Machine monkeys zed

Prefer the new spoiler top the old one Mat :)

What is the black tape on the passenger side between the wing and the front bumper?

Are you going to be making up some bracks for bigger claiper then Mat? If so i could be very interested as its something i hope to do on mine one day :)

Thanks Ash me too it folows the lines much better.

Uuurrrmmm that's holding my bumper on!! I brought new clips. but the bumper has been off and on so many times. Plus it was a damaged bumper. It just dose not clip in and stay in place. I have made some big washers out of anodized black aluminum and have some polished up stainless steel m5 c/s bolts. so i will be bolting it on. I forgot to take them over to the workshop yesterday :headbang: so thats a job for Saturday as is wiring in my angle eyes for my fog lights.

Yeah sure thing if i get them working and all is well i can make you a set

Slight thread hijack but..

Machine Monkey - SPAX coilies.. How did you get the rears to lower? >:(
Springs are in, and the adjustable perch is at the bottom (where SPAX told me to put it).
They are wound down to the lowest setting (so the spring is at it's LEAST compressed when fitted), yet the car sits higher than stock (probably about an inch between the tyre and the arch.)

The fronts are in and also set to their lowest possible (to make it easier to get the tophats on), and like that, the front arch is about 0.75cm away from the tyre (TOO low, but I'll be resolving that tonight - ran out of time yesterday).

Any advice? About to email SPAX and ask their advice too.
Already checked the part numbers with them, so no concerns over wrong parts.

That's weird! Mine dose not go mega low at the back but it's not as low as it can go! And as you know mine is not high!! Check the fitment of the adjuster one the control arm mine was far to tight. So I monkeyed around with a file?

Without have a look it's hard to say? Apart from a bit of filling (really minimal) it all wen together quite well.

So i have had the car for over 3 years now. In that time i have had a few issue with the her. Mostly due to the fact the car sat for a long time. But all was well and she was running great.

I have plans in place for fixing the sticky steering. After trying all the simple fixes and them having some effect. I am still not happy with it and the feel just isn't there or right. I have chased this since owning the car. I have spent most of my time and cash on handling mods and playing with it to get it how i want. So the next thing is replace the rack and put in a normal system. The steering in my 323 was the best i have ever had so i am hoping for good things.

But the big problem i have right now..... Is....... And i am amazed it has not happened already..... Can you guess???????????????

Yes that's right ladies and gentlemen my roof motor has finally bitten it. It has had enough of putting my roof up and down. I am sure its also very fed up with my lack cleaning its drains. Its all my fault really and i am taking it on the chin. But i will be working hard over the winter to put things right.

Every cloud, an all that, gives you the opportunity to mount the motor in the boot now, where it'll be cosy warm an dry.

Sorry to hear about your roof motor - its like a ticking clock waiting to fail for all us roadies
I guess you will be doing it yourself being a 'machine monkey' - not using Tug's services?

Your not wrong its not if its when it will happen.
I wasn't surprised or upset really. I went to lower the roof to give the inside a good clean. And it unlatched and stoped at that. I had a wet patch in the boot the other week. So i was prepared for it.

I will probably give it a go myself. It will be a good opportunity to give everything a dam good clean.

Ah man, that is rubbish. I guess if it's lasted this long then that is not bad for a Zed. Since you are handy with the spanners, if you don't fancy removing the whole roof you can just pull back one side of it and bust the rivets that hold the liner on to get access (easy to secure back with self-tappers). It is much quicker but it is fiddly. Like this:

Just realised what you are going for with that crazy-ass spoiler. Sagaris, right? :D

That looks an easier way of doing it. Is it still possible to mount the motor in the boot doing it like this?
I think as i have use of a massive workshop and I dont have to worry about it raining. I will probably take it all off and give it a good clean. And a dam good once over of all the mechanical bits n bobs too.

Dose the crazy ass spoiler make more sense now?? I know its not everyone's cup of tea. And it would look a bit daft on a most zeds. But I think it works on mine.

Forgot to mention i did have the car on the lift this weekend.

so i just had a few small jobs to do. One of my headlight washer jets wasn't connected. Witch meant they both didn't work and the tank emptied out quickly. It turned out a litle plastic clip was missing i guess broke with age and its been off and on a bit. So i made up some aluminum ones and replaced the both. They seem to be all working fine now.

Also the cross brace where flaking and driving me nuts so they where striped sanded and treated to a bit of fresh black paint.

Last but not and its a rubbish photo i tried and tried but couldn't capture them. I have angel eyes in my fog lights. They actually look really quite cool.

Also do you like my cool broom mod. For some reason the bonnet struts have died!!

Just cant catch a break at the minute what the the roof motor
