Machine monkeys zed

Wow! What a transformation, great effort Mat. Get the flattening and machine polishing done and hope to see you at Shepshed and bring that Lux bloke with you

I will be getting a few bits warped gloss black I think the mirrors will be painted blue the warped. So if I change my mind I can un wrap them.

No idea about Luke??

Just got in the car to gave little drive and...... It seems I have the same throttle body problem back again for the 3rd time :headbang: :tumbleweed: I tell ya you couldn't write this sh1t!!!

If it wasn't for bad luck and all that!!!

Just trying to figure out a borrowed code reader. And get the codes to confirm

Not a happy monkey!!

That was easy easy p1366 throttle valve adaption. I am sure that's what I had before now time to look through this thread and check.

Ouch that hurt £280 with VAT :headbang: :( :o :?

Still i can pick it up latter today. I am sure its less painful bending over in a prison shower than owning my z4!!!!!!!!!!

error code P1633 - Things to try:

Reset Throttle Body Adaption
Code:
Put the power on but do not start the engine.
- Floor the throttle for 30-60 seconds
- Keep the throttle to the floor and put the power OFF
- Release the throttle and wait 2 minutes.

Clean throttle valve
Code:
Take the throttle body off, and give the butterfly valve a good clean!

Check/Change Throttle Position Sensor
Code:
I believe there are two on the Z4. The "most common" is located under the intake manifold and is a right arse to get to.
However, the sensors are not THAT expensive, and are more common than a dodgy throttle body

After that, I'd suggest linking the car up to INPA / DIS and getting a "proper" diagnosis to try and see what's what, as it could be a mariad of things
(throttle sender unit not returning valid values, throttle sender getting "stuck" at or above 10% on "idle", throttle body, maf, collection of small hamsters nesting in your intake manifold..)

If you were closer, I'd already be around with a 6 pack and a laptop

Thanks mate.

Its exactly the same problem as before and as i have had one of the same pattern parts fail. I am putting a big leap of faith and £280 quid on the line. Fingers crossed that its this simple.

Thanks Bish Its the lovely interlagos z4mr like yours that turned me from silver. But i didn't want a BMW blue. It was nearly laguna seca but i am glad i changed my mind.

It will have its first lot of sanding and polishing tonight. Hopefully start getting the deep mirror finish I am after.

But i will be taking her out for an Italian tune up first!!!

The car looks great mate.

Do not put fly-eye wrap on your headlights, trust me I've been there and learned the lesson. Not only does it reduce light output, but it actually scars (can't think of a better word!) the inside of the headlight. I had it on for less than a month but its left me with a ghost honeycomb outline that I can now online remove by splitting the headlights to get to the inside.

So I will be number 3 splitting the headlights over winter!

Thank you.

And thanks for the heads up. I will defiantly be leaving that alone. We should all meet up and hold hands while we cut the lights open!!
