Thanks Steve no it cant really!! Although i am starting to like the rat look. I might miss the shoddy paint work!!

It won't be as good as yours mate!!! But your car will never be as fast as mine so you may never find out?!?!
Thats if its not like "some" of the ropey 3L's on here with 182 bhp.
Haven't seen that 182bhp!!! :o yours should be not far off that mate!! Mine may look sh1t but mechanically she is good  I have not checked the Bhp but have driven a few cars and it has more than 182. After the paint refresh she will be getting much much more..... If that goes well and you like what I do maybe we could do the same or similar to yours???

 Gav getting dissed by Johnny! 182bhp  i'd be gutted if mine was that down on power.

It's okay, least I'm not trying to make mine look like it should have a proper engine! ///m bonnet to accommodate..... More fresh air!

Ok now you boys are not arguing on my build thread i will continue!!

So i didn't start the paint work  :x haven't got the loan car yet and the booth still inst finished :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
It was also cold and wet and not much fun being in a barn in the middle of nowhere!!

So i started another little project in the warmth of my workshop with a beer or 2!! I have had a spare seat and i decided to cut it open and have a look inside. I liked what i saw so i am going to go ahead with my seat modding plans.

So the cardboard is a template. I will cut these out of some 2mm steel plate then bolt and weld the (seat wings-bolsters) To the original frame. I have some foam that will then stick to them and pad it all nicely. I then need unstictch the panel on each side. And then get the new panel made and stiched back in. Simples!!!! Just trying to decide if i go for perforated leather or alcantara. Either way my steering wheel will be sent to Royal to be matched.

Hi MM, i did a small mod with the seat back that gives much more support than standard, even better than the msport seats. Originally i opened and raised the back leather cover to repair the foam around the bolsters, seeing the frame underneath, it became very obvious i could improve the "snugness" of the seat just but altering the frame bolster angle, I changed it approximately ten degrees, i then repaired the foam and put the leather cover back, it makes a massive difference!

Ok so a little update got the bolsters and wings (dont know what else to call the shoulder supports) made up and attached. The wing need to come off to get some adjustment with a big hammer so they stick out more.
Then its simply attach some foam and re trim!!!! do the seat base and then repeat simple right!!!

Liking the work MM
Think I will be doing the same, only getting the pro's in to do the doorcards and ally trim as well.

While researching the other day I saw you involved in threads about S2000 seats, any reason you didn't go down that route? Or did you just want your own project to play with??

(still loving my exhaust mod btw!)

Thanks

The only reason i haven't yet gone s2000 is that i had the spare seat in the workshop. I also have a spare load of foam. Plus you dont know if you can do something unless you have a go.
So i am spending a bit of time on this over the next few weeks.

Good to hear

Wowsers great work, should be calling you "upholstery monkey" too, get the bolsters done in alacantara if you can, I have my type r recaros bolsters in alacantara and it's so grippy/snug in comparison to my bmw leather.

Looking forward to seeing results

Not sure about that!! Building the frame and sticking foam to it no problem. Upholstering them we shall see what happens with that!!
Alacantara is the preferd option right now....
