Machine monkeys zed

I hope so Luke. I still have to finish the wheels. I seem to have lots of things started but nothing finished!!

No not yet i am not 100% sure i can get on and off my drive if i lower it!!

So if i lower my car with fk springs will i be able to get the car on and off my drive??? Hear are some pictures what do you think???

Luke do you not have any issue with you car? Also when i go the the gym they have 2 rubber molded speed ramps. My car bottoms out on them if i go to fast. I have to almost stop !!

Bump what do we think people to lower or not lower?? If any one is thinking of selling a cheap set of coilovers so i can adjust it?!
That would be very handy. Wish i had the cash to get mikes when he was selling :(

I thought the same on the coilovers, I really wanted them but couldn't justify the cost!

Is the car already lowered? If not, I'd say you'll probably scrape if you do.

Nope standard as far as i know it looks like a 4X4 after seeing all these other cars lowered!! I think your right especially when i put the bumper on i am working on. Its about 25mm lower. Must get the driveway finished!!

I could justify it just didn't have it!! Might have to give a coilovers a miss again if they come up!! I am getting new tyres next month i cant wait to ditch the RFTS that and new suspension bushes upfront. I hope its going to handle like i thought it would.

Yeah i want to be able to drive it and not worry to much. I might go 25mm 30mm???

But saying that the FK springs are loads cheaper so i will probably get them!! :D

not a chance you'll clear your drive unfortunately, with fk springs anyway. my front bumpers fine, it's the sideskirts which are close for me.

i can't use my local tesco's anymore due to those rubber moulded speedbumps. underneath bottoms out on them and it sound horrendous.

i have indeed. they're decent springs for the money. buy them, fit them and see what happens.

if you can't clear the driveway, take them off and sell them on here for a profit.

The springs (eibachs) anyway are not an even drop... The rears drop more then the fronts... Because of that on a tilt/ slope the front wont necessarily be 40mm lower.

That being said i struggle with a lot of speed bumps and slops with mine on eibachs and an M front.

I had exactly the same issue... Going forwards I have NO chance of getting on my drive! Tried once... Never again! The fix was to simply reverse on! Works a treat and my step to my drive is steeper than yours mate :)

Drop it!!

Drive is lovely. Come up and have a try if you like :)

Is there no way to arrange the slope of the driveway? I would go for it and put a wooden beam in front of the driveway to minimize the slope ;)

Thanks for the replies guys.

I am gonna have to think about it. Wait for coil overs or just do it!!

Thanks for the offer Luke. If the ride is ok and it's just the drive way issue I can do as Bad said I can get busy with the shovel and even it out a bit. To get rid of the step. I should run to the gym any way!

Update on the wheels only one to go. I am hopping to get the tyres off this weekend and polish them up on the lathe at work. Then paint the following week and then get the non RFTs put on. Fit the new bushes and then make up my mind on the springs I think!!

You'll have to keep us updated about which makes the most difference to the tram lining etc... tyres or bushes. Need to know as mine is like a fairground ride. Funny thing is if I don't use the car for a while its horrible. If I take it on a long run it gets a lot better. Don't know if heat in the rfts makes them better or what!

I will do I hope to get the bushes done first! But the way things are I suspect the wheels and tyres will be done first. I think this is going to be the biggest difference. I will probably wait a few weeks months and then do the bushes. As I want to see if I can feel a difference? I will keep you all updated.

So 3 down 1 to go i have all the paint off the drivers side front. And its first ( the hardest ) rub down complete. I will get the last one to this stage this weekend. Then either Sunday or next Saturday. All tyres off for all of them to get a finish polish and paint. I am going to re paint the rears. I am going darker almost black in the spokes. Then new rubber and enjoy driving :D
