Initial thoughts:
A completely different car to the Z, very comfortable, very easy to drive. Actually feels a lot smaller than it is due to it`s inherent ease to place on the road. Lateral grip is phenomenal from the Michelins.
Exhaust note muted compared to the raw note on the Z but sounds very F1 with the roof down howling round to 8250rpm. SMG so far I actually love but you have to get the shifts right or it`s a bit brutal.
On fast sweeping bends it`s stable in a way the Z never was, DSC only cuts in if you are being silly. It`s so much better damped than the Z that it`s easier to transfer all that 507BHP!!
It`s not as lithe on direction changes as it`s a fair bit heavier. You feel that weight on full bore take offs but the weighty feeling dissappears above 60. We are still talking 4.8 0-60 though, above 60 this car is SERIOUSLY quick and feels all the quicker with the roof down.
The Logic 7 doesn`t sound quite so gutsy as it does in the Z but the DAB radio and digital TV are excellent. i-drive is very complicated for a new user but the all important M mode is set exactly as I like it, S5 P500Sport, full stiff (ooeerrr) on EDC.
This is only after driving about 100 miles or so!
