Nice to see a manual box Tim , can you still order with the black trim around the windows? Chris

Thanks Chris, yes you can, I think its called high gloss shadowline which you don't get on the 5 door, I think BMW stick with black rubber on those.

Thanks alot Sars  Really starting to appreciate Estoril now, especially this evening in low light as the colour seems to zing something I never had with Glacier Silver which was much flatter.

Looking good Tim, how are you finding the performance over your old one?

Thanks MACK, early days yet, it doesn't feel much different lower down the rev range, maybe a little torquer but will see once I start extending the engine. It sounds a fair bit more refined on the move though. I think the sound being piped into the cabin has been reduced as well and understand an extra silencer has been fitted now over the old model.

No, my son has a 5 door and the shiny black surround. Chrome was a no cost option.

Unsure pvr as not owned a 5 door but assumed the window surrounds were rubber with gloss on the centre pillar?

Just a bit. He loves it. The rev matching on downshift is something he really likes as well. The 135 he test drove did not have that.

He went for the red interior, which actually works well.

Did he go for the manual or auto? I understand the rev matching is on the manual now as well, I think :?

I very nearly went for the coral interior but had it on the the M135i so went with Oyster, just unsure how it will hold out when I have my boiler suit on :)

can that be switched off :driving:
No idea ...
I'd want to find out before buying the car - it would literally be a deal breaker for me. It's part of what makes driving a manual enjoyable to me. You may as well have an auto if its gonna auto rev match :(

Think I'm part of a dying breed though...

I will have too play around with mine, I don't think auto rev match can be switched off, I can't see anything in the menus, however it might be disengaged with the dsc off like the M2 :?

I wouldn't go all FB on you Tim but the silver looked a far nice package for me
The blue paint with grey bits & chrome aren't exactly easy on the eye & front end looks more complete on your last one :?

Sorry, I dont get them at all.
I understand that they are quite special regards to the engine etc but they just dont look special.
Saw one today parked next to a Hyundai I30 and taking performance out of the equation, the Hyundai looked the better car.
I know that the silver mirrors are not just associated with that model but it just looks wrong, it looks like you have lost one and picked up a cheap one at a scrappies in the wrong colour. I think black mirrors would look better along with the silver bits in the front grill gloss black and gloss black window trim. Not into black wheels but I think they would suit that too.
Hope you like it though.
By the way, how is it jumping from that into your Z3? Does the Z feel really old or still feel good?

You don't know how much I ummed and arrred and went around in circles regarding colour choice  My default choice has been silver on any car for the past 20 years so going away from that was quite a change for me. I decided with the M140i to go completely opposite to my usual choice otherwise I would feel it wasn't worth the change or it would feel too much same same. I have to say though I'm really pleased with my choice and after giving the car a good waxing today the colour reaps rewards over silver. My neighbour summed it up today when they said what a beautiful colour and I mentioned that I nearly went for silver again and they said oh no, silver is dull and boring, every other car is silver :)

I do prefer the prefacelift front bumper though, wished they had left it alone but just redesigned the gawky lights, on the flipside the rear is a big improvement and looks alot less VW Polo :)
