M140i Collected & Piccies

Thanks, insurance not too bad at £809

Sounds like a great deal :)

I've been hearing of all sorts of delays, lack of prof nav screens, no MPSS tyres but would think a high volume manufacturer would have alternatives in place, maybe mine was early as I specced runflats :D

The delay on the pro satnav was what made my sons car from a 135 to a 140. He does not regret the extra wait though.

Hi all,

Collected the motor today and very pleased with it :) Quite surprised at the difference in feel and drive from my old M135i. The new model feels more grown up and refined especially the engine inside the car which is quieter. I had real reservations going for the runflats which are Bridgestones and they are absolutely fine and just as comfortable as the MPSS so pleased on that one. Loving the new iDrive screen and graphics are lovely so feels a step up from the old car. The chrome trim around the windows is brushed matt which is a nice touch. Hand over took 90 mins, there was a slight glitch when the sales lady showed how the sunroof worked and then wouldn't close as the wind deflector wouldn't retract. A quick reset seemed to sort it out :) Dealer, knights of South Staffs have been top notch as always.

Very nice Tim - I'd have still waited a couple of weeks and taken delivery on a 66 plate though... :P

I know, I just couldn't wait, like candy to a kid :D I didn't really fancy the motor hanging around the dealers compound to be honest.

Nice Tim, looks lovely

Not sure about the display thing stuck on the dash though!
My mates M4 has it projected onto the windscreen.

Thanks Steve

Yeah its a bit Heath Robinson as its literally stuck on the dash but displays some useful info, it was either that or do without as the 1er doesn't get the HUD windscreen. I did look at aftermarket ones but stuck with BMWs retrofit.

:D Looks very good all round.Twin exhaust tail pipes would have been a nice touch.
I bet it wasn't long before the seat covers were on.

Like the Golf R? hmmmm unsure I'm too old for that many exhaust pipes

Wow - that looks lovely, especially the colour combination! (A bit similar to my Z4)!

I'd like to say I'd have waited for new plate, but if it was mine and I knew it was ready then I am sure I would have done the same as you!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad now I went for a completely different combo from before, the interior pics don't really pick up the Fineline wood which looks really nice, so it does feel a different car from before. I will miss the silver and red interior though.

The biggest surprise are the runflats :o

Very nice, love the blue, The facelift front looks quite 4seriesish

Thanks Sae, I think BMW had to do something with both the front and back to bring the 1 Series in line with other models ranges.
