Since when was a Z4M Coupe £10k :poke:

SL65 5.5L 500bhp are available for c.£13k on Autotrader, same as Z4MC money

Evo FQ340 same money, faster than a Z4M

Difference is the BMW has the prestige too, it's a quality built car all the toys the comfort and is quick.

Non of the above fit that. It's a very difficult car to replace, unless you have 20k to put into a 911.

I'd go with this, Cayman S or 911 as replacements.

TTS is a potential replacement, arguably a more refined cabin than the Z, but the Z4M feels a much better driver's car.

370Z....doesn't have the refinement.

The SL / Merc has similar prestige. However the problem with an Evo or an M5 is that they are not two seater sports cars, so are not comparable in this debate if that's what you're looking for.

Z4M roadsters are cheaper......Coupe or roady wasnt specified..

I though an SL65 and an SL55 with the 5.5 are different cars??

I think in standard trim its the Evo 9 FQ360 that will get the better of a Z4M upto 100mph..

FQ340 is 4.7s 0-62. Quicker book speed than a Z4M.

Can't see many M roadsters for £10k either

Thought this was 0-100 stats we was talking ?

Any news on the merc ?? Did you mean a SL65 or SL55 ?? Cant see any SL65's at 13k ??

There was a roady at 10k on this very forum not long ago wasnt there?? Or was it cheaper than that ?

I stand by every point made in my post, except i said people always instead of a lot of people will always say its not an M, dont know where you got 95% of people from tho. i dont see why calling a 3.0 mediocre makes me sound like a **** when it comes from the latin mediocus, half way up the mountain which in the z4 line up startingwith 2.0 and ending with 3.2 is pretty fair, i would feel more of a **** driving round in a fake M, if you want a 3.0 for whatever reason then buy one but buy it for what it is. people get slated for wearing a fake rolex or making a replica ferrari. if you dont want people to think its an M then why bother trying to make it look like one. used to know a couple that sent away for fake lacoste crocodile motifs to sew on their polo shirts, now They were ****'s ! never mean to offend anyone on here but a lot on here bite really easily and get quite grumpy too. I actually remember someone on here slagging off a white roadster because it was a fake unicorn :poke:

There's an MR on AutoTrader at £9k, but it has 100k miles on it. If you want one with 30-40k miles you're looking at £13-14k, sometimes more. And yes, there was one on here at £10k but he didn't sell it - decided to keep hold IIRC.

Agree it is a tough car to replace for the money & you are spot on in your description of the TTS & Z4M as I have experience with both cars.

Having just looked back through the sale section.....There has been a few roadies that have been at £10k- £10,500... Which i think is a fair enough price..

And yes,the one thats under £9k has hi miles but is in good condition....That said, its a Z4M that can be had for £9k,bargain i reckon..

Indeed it is the SL55, my bad. My knowledge of the SL range isn't great. But the 55 is quicker than an M for same money. It has a good 160bhp advantage too. Ok it's auto only, but that doesn't take away from the power and pace.

Not sure what stats we're talking. But the FQ340 is quicker. None of us would ever drive over 70 ;) so anything more is irrelevant :)

As mentioned, I'm not putting the Z4M down. Just trying to put a little perspective on the conversation.

Of course...

I love all performance cars, what make, whatever model....Its been my job for over 25 years and i have been lucky enough to drive more or less everything out there..Used to look after a R500,Atom and Crossbow, all where mental and road legal..Along with Ferrari's,Porsches and the odd Aston..

I just happen to think the Z4M is a fantastic car for the money, but i have to take exception when people who have never driven one talk out of there hat..Ok,its not the be all and end all of cars, but very hard to replace.

Im trying to buy an M6 at the moment.....Onward and upward..lol..

3.0 - mediocre? I'm sure you meant the Latin mediocus ;) Others might might not believe you. But I do - 100%

I agree that some fake Ms look shabby and deserve a ripping. The 04 plate "Harmon Kardon" "genuine" fake white roadster with brown M badges and black patches was vile. However, I've seen some brilliant cars with M parts such as Ranski's, RichardG's and CJ's cars. All of which are a credit to the forum. I don't think any are intended to be M fakes.

For what's is worth, you'd be surprised how many parts on the Z4M Coupe/Roadster are the same as the mediocre 3.0 model.... a very high percentage.

Wow, this thread has exploded. Well ....handbags are out for show aren't they. Haha.

My own opinion , the 3.0si is a brilliant car. I often use it for the daily commute which is 60 miles, and my motorway cruiser to see friends and family who are over 200 miles away. It does it all brilliantly. And as for mpg ... Not that I give a dodgey turd for - is actually hovering at 35 since I reset simply because I haven't hooned for 2 weeks and have driven down a roads at constant speeds, albeit it with town traffic at the work end, tiwsty roads before the As and some high speed overtakes to clear the turnips on the A4. If I rag it, I'll get low 20s. If I rag my 206gti .. I get low 20s ! If I ragged a 1.0 Micra all day every day I'm sure it wouldn't do "much" better either. So this can't be an argument surely.

My dream car (attainable in the short term) whilst at uni was the M coupe. I was obsessed !!! When I graduated, realised how expensive life was - I realised that I couldn't afford the M! So I looked for alternatives. When I can afford one - I'll probably have an M. In the meantime ... My 3.0si is a beaute. I don't get jealous of Ms ... More so I admire them.

Rambling I know, but this thread is just odd.
