M market watch

Just seen the below.

Called them for more info, apparently they have had a fair few calls and might not need to complete the post on AT as it will be sold! Can't imagine there are many 1 owner Z4Ms.

You had to really, their first advert was crap! I understand they might not have had photos, but it never even specified whether it was a Coupe or a Roadster. :headbang:

Luckily it is black so I don't need to torture myself.

It is a coupe and pictures are up now.

What on earth happened to that dash - never seen a carbon leather go like that. All leather panels seems like they have been soaked and the glue let go or so, very odd.

how does one find an imola z4mc these days...

I open the garage door and blow the dust off the wife's :)

[edit to add - it is/will be for sale, but we're still argueing with the builder and I'm sorting his bodges out, which has governed our lives for the last 15 months. So all I've done since November is put the Ctek on it once a month and driven it up and down the drive a couple of times. And I suspect my wife is also still somewhat unrealistic as to its value. Still, she retires again next month so she can sort it out. Last year we spent more on VED for 2 of our vehicles than we spent on fuel and servicing them, and it was pretty close on one of my bikes. I never took the other one off SORN :( ]

Late 1 of 1 Alpine White Z4MR tickle anybody's pickle?

When I picked mine up 2 years ago, despite its imperfections I didn’t look back. I knew how hard they were to come by.

I see the White M is being flipped. Now £3.5k more expensive and it’s moved to Barry. Same thing happened with the Sepang roadster and that still out there slowly dropping in price. Like a bit of optimism!!

I was just about to post the flip too!

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202503280698778

£4k more now. Not a colour for me, or the best imho, perhaps why only one person was convinced

AutoTrader car check shows it up as a colour change.

That dealer in Carnoustie has nice cars, but they are expensive.

My definition of flipping is a private buyer trying to make a quick buck out of cars. This is a dealer. All dealers source cars from any source in a hope of making a profit.

In a way, as i mentioned on the 30k coupe thread im hoping this is a reset of sorts.

Its funny its a forum about appreciation of these cars. Most people are owners slamming values... Like you cant find a good E46 M3 for under 30k! Just find it funny surely its a positive that there are examples on the higher side?

The Z4M didnt appreciate through covid, in fact, the prices hadn't really changed for 8 years and that doesn't include inflation.

Then a huge decrease after covid. They were 14-18k for 60-80k cars pre covid those same cars are now <10-14k on the market not actual.

Just do a trade in value check, roadsters have like 3-6k trade values which is shocking. Granted they are 20 years old and most dealers dont want these cars.

That being said they have to be good examples with good history you inevitably get people thinking what they have is worth more than they are.

I also think these cars are hard to value. I certainly would pay more for a better car and 25K for a good Mcoupe with the state of the car world to me is a bargain.

They are the only M car of its generation to see big drops. Considering the rarity and the fact they have the later CSL parts, it's mad that, for example, mine, being a 1-4 car 80k in excellent condition, is worth probably 9k realistically. 12k to put up, but watching the market, nothing has moved.

That being said I posted this on a Facebook page for a 3.0SI with 90K up for 8k and had numerous people wanting to take it off my hands.

Its nice to see a few having confidence that the cars are worth a bit more because honestly as a buyer its epic. As a seller its pretty awful especially considering the money these cars need at this age to be in good order. Could drop 5k really easily on these and as a buyer without much understanding get yourself in a bit of a financial hole. It doesnt make them worth any more. The complete opposite in the Porsche world, hence the huge price discrepancy between cars.

If we end up in another financial crisis I will certainly be looking to add another Mcoupe or a 997.2 to go with my MR.

I do like that sepang car- Mansfield? Under 16k now

Seeing the tariff malarkey going on in the states- what’s the opinion on impact on 2nd hand cars (not just M cars)

I can’t call if it’s going to go up, down, or no discernible difference

Over here I see no direct impact of US tariffs on UK car prices. Very few UK sold cars are US made, and it is those that will be affected. Even the Teslas sold here are made in China. The biggest impact on value of discretionary toys like the Z4M will be income, interest rates, and the general UK econmy, which of course will be impacted by the orange one's whims.

In the US used car prices are apparently already climbing, although as the situation is likely to be completely different this time next week then nobody knows what will happen.

British car manufacturing that is shipped to the states equates to 47 billion of revenue. 8 in 10 cars made in the uk are exported.

What it will hit specifically, who knows, but it will hit, and I'm sure it's hard.

Quite a few BMWs are built in Spartanburg still and in Mexico with US components. The car market is odd and will only get odder in my view. What were certain “keep reasonable value” cars like the MC/MR are free falling because the upkeep is high. And people don’t have the cash. Big V8 cars like Jensens are also coming back down because of the cost of running the thing (or the perceived cost ). Perhaps why the 3.0SiC is becoming more desireable as it’s all the looks (nearly) and not so much of a perceived risk. The other issue of course is that they are all 20 year old “bangers” and need to get out of the trough. The survivors will keep some money but they sure aren’t an investment. I will have to keep mine!
