M market watch

Looks like someone's bought it! Mr Tidy, was it you? :D :P

Very unlikely , i suspect the notion may appeal but the Ved , S54 service regime & mpg would scupper any serious plans of longterm ZM ownership

No, it wasn't me!

mr wilks is right about the S54 service regime, and to a degree the VED - mpg is less of an issue as I only do about 4,000 miles a year in my Z4 anyway.

The other factor that put me off is that I don't have a garage, and I'm not sure I'd want an MC living outdoors.

Someone got a bargain though.

Must be the cheapest Imola car i have seen.
Very poor ad and no history mentioned.

I think the price is fair considering the mileage.

I do too , the ///Market right now seems to have little appetite for £15k/£17k 70k- 80k examples so a 140k in Northern Ireland looks expensive to me at £13k

I contacted the seller about this one and basically there is no service history, other than what BMW may have carried out and can verify (at the buyer's effort). When you also consider the poor ad description and the lack of effort to clean the interior before taking photos, I think he'll really struggle to sell that at anything over £10k.

I know I won't be popular with owners of ///Ms but cars just don't seem to be selling and I think the simple answer is that prices are too high.

The Interlagos coupe mentioned higher up this page only sold once it was drastically reduced in price. It had been sat at the "market" price for months leading up to that.

There are a couple of ads on the forum at the moment that in my opinion are asking easily £1-2k more than is reasonable.

But then what do I know

It's the whole car market right now. Everything is coming back into more sensible pricing...the 570's, R8's and AMG GTs have all dropped £10k from just 6 months ago. Even the Porsche market has become more sensible.

Unbelievably so which is good news for buyers but obviously not sellers .
I'm being increasingly drawn to the 981Cayman so 2013 onwards , started looking last Autumn & so so glad i held off as the drop on those has been swift over the 9 months ive scoped them .
To get perspective 2013/2014 2 owner cars circa 35k/50k Autumns 2018 were £32k/£33k private , , , same cars now are sat for sale months on end at £25k/£27k :o & right now i'm not sure they have bottomed out so my watch & wait will continue a while longer .
Dropping almost £1k a month is scary quick for a kudos model Porsche

Classic/modern classic markets are cyclical. There always seem to highs and lows, depending on actual or imagined prevailing economic conditions. Z4M's dropped off the book, bottomed out, recovered and seem to be stagnating at the moment.
As has been said, it's not a Z4M thing but a market which is stalling due to people's fears about the future.
Anyway, if my Z4m has dropped a couple of grand but R8's are £10k down that's fine with me. :D

I like your thinking!

Yes, I must admit to having Z4 blinkers on, so hadn't really appreciated the whole market was on a down. Thing is, how low will it go?

Where's my crystal ball gone...

Never mind the R8. Chatting to a PH freind, over a bacon bap on Saturday, after our run out. He was looking to sell his very tidy MP4 12C for 70k. :o

I bought a Cayman 981 non S 2014 for £26k last week. Sold it straight on to Porsche and they have listed it at £37k. Yikes!

s**t spec and miley....

The £33-£35k cars are top spec with low miles and impeccable history, many 14 plates with 20k-30k miles and decent spec and wheels are still £32k-£34k..

When you get into the "must haves" like 20" wheels, sports exhaust and full sport leather,OPC warranty" then the prices escalate and the choice narrows.
Discount red and silver cars as they bring less money, along with a weird brown/grey that porsche do that is hard to sell.

When i bought mine last year as a 14 plate, its was a one owner car with good spec,20" wheels, full leather,Full dealer history and 13 months OPC warranty..Just had large 4 yr service and fresh rubber all round.

I paid nothing like £32k-£33k....

The cheap ones are cheap for a reason... They are like buying an SE spec Z4.....Why would ya!!

Did you buy to sell it right on ?

How much did Porsche give you for it ?

I made a very small profit on it but in Porsche' defence i know what their prep bills are so whereas i could have spent £500 to get it perfect they are having to spend £5k with checks, 2 year warranty, VAT etc.

Lovely car though and great to drive - only reservation was the non S just inst very fast - Z4M is a lot quicker. I've driven the S around Europe and its certainly worth the extra.

The cayman is more poised but in standard non S form I would pass.

Very hard to find a well optioned car for the money quoted here. The additional options like PSE really make these cars an experience. Completely changes the character. Have fun adding a real one or a third party £££ especially in a switchable form.

Completely disagree with the guards red comment one of the most sought after colours and you rarely see them for sale. 90% of cars for sale are black silver or white yet the best colours are the more vibrant. Would love a GR 997.2 but very rare indeed.
