M market watch

All the talk on engine issues does get me a little nervious. especially when I have spent the last 13 years in jap cars that seem to have no issues being tracked, while running 100 bhp over std on an untouched 20 year old engine.

I'm hoping it's a small number of cars, and as with all forums you only hear about people having issues and not about all the cars running fine.

I can't see cams failing due to one track day on oil that's not even over due a change, unless the car had spent allot of time on track in its life. I would guess it's more likely levels running low or incorrect oil used.

87k £17k crap advert :? id say he was pi55ing into the wind :(

The exhaust is on the pi$$ too, Andy - perhaps needs some TLC!!

It's weird when people put such a lack of effort into an advert...he might just have well written "it's a silver car, goes quite fast, no time wasters please"

You'd have to be very close by or desperately want one to bother going to see it.

I really wouldn't worry, there must over 100 M cars on this forum and maybe just 1 or 2 have had any major engine problem. It's a brilliant engine, as well built as any pushing 100bhp per litre...get one bought before they're £30k for a decent one!

That's the problem with forums, you only ever hear about things going wrong...

Private sale 63k Imola Coupe new to the marketplace at £19750 ( with questionable ACSchnitzer alloys)
Amazes me that a seller would think to describe "cupholders installed under airvents " yet not mention any service history
Anyhow here it is

Yeahh those wheels don't do it any favours!

If I were in the market I'd be looking at this beauty.
Lovely colour combo, looks well cared for and a well written advert.

On a lower budget this one looks clean.
The owner is on Instagram and looks like he takes good care of it.

Indeed significantly stronger asks than late last year or indeed for a good while before that .
We do know that many or most of all the current cars for sale have been up in some cases for over 6 months

If you were looking to buy one now what price would you be looking to pay, allowing for the fact that there is currently three on the BMW AUC website at around £17-£18K ?

Yes & one of those Sepang cars was purchased directly off a forum member last November for circa £13k before they lumped £5k on overnight  same car , nothing other than prepped & warranted for the sale  you tell me how much the car is worth ?

To my knowledge nobody has viewed this car to comment but if i was on the hunt this week it would be on my horizon if they answered all questions satisfactorily over the phone first

Wow they do like to make a profit :o :o :o I suppose they have to pay for the multi million pound showrooms somehow

Having said that I have had a couple of quotes to put a BMW warranty on a privately advertised Z4MR with 60K on the clock and the quotes are crazy at over £3k per annum

Of course they are in business & i appreciate that the buy / prep / warranty would cost around £2k so the margin will be smaller than it appears but imo a warranty doesn't make the actual a car worth any more money ? It simply makes it a safer prospect to buy used for those of a nervous disposition  :P
