Lil' ole Red Coupe here that's photo shopped nicely https://www.premiummarques.co.uk/used-cars/bmw-z4m-3-2-2dr-london-201807058150242

What's been photo shopped?

The red looks super vivid and unnatural to me. Might not be intentional as a lot of mobile phones add post processing on images now by default.

If not photoshopped, like to know what they did to make it so vibrant

Possible bargain of the year?
Well apart from being stored from 2010 - 2016. Not sure if servicing was carried out during this time. The MOTs weren't... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-M-Coupe-3-2-Manual-Interlagos-Blue-Bi-Xenons-Premium-Audio-etc/283155732462?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

If it wasn't MOT'd during storage I'd be amazed if it was serviced - but then if it was stored would that really matter?

I don't think that would put me off, but my issue is I don't have the money! :(

You're probably right, but like you I don't have the money otherwise I'd be all over that at 33,000 miles! 🤗
Let's hope someone on the forum gets lucky! 👍

Looks great value to me, the storage thing wouldn't bother me a bit as long as the rest of the history was okay.

Hmmm - i'm on the fence with this one. Cars don't like being sat around especially for 5-6 years. God knows how much rubber has dried out and gunk accumulated inside, never mind condensation in fluids etc.

The saving grace is that it's been driven for the last 2 years but then I don't know how long it would take for problems to manifest.

I had a similar thing with an Aston Martin, my 19k example was far worse and problematic than my 40k one.

MOT history is patchy with some long standing/repeated advisories suggesting no urgency to spend on maintenance. But a good price, I would want to delve in to the service history and give it a close inspection for damage / paint repairs.

Last MOT April 2018 - 2019
Advisory notice item(s)
Offside Front Brake pipe slightly corroded (3.6.B.2c)
Offside Rear Brake pipe slightly corroded (3.6.B.2c)
Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2)
Nearside Rear tyre close to legal limit (2mm)

That looks a bargain if it's straight and has been well serviced...! Ridiculous how cheap these cars are for what they are, a 2012 boggo boxster is still £25k+...

That Roadster looks like a good deal - assuming it all checks out!

Now I wish I hadn't read this thread - I'm wondering if maybe I should try a Roadster!

Is it me or is the ///Market going the wrong way :? a 104k & a 111k ZMC both dealers both at £13995 ask price so room to go lower
Both look well kept & far from ropey with amarone interior in the 104k 8)

I think it is to be honest

Nobody seems to be spending at the moment..... I wonder why ... flipping brexit :x

It’s not just zm’s though ..... pretty much all performance car sales are very very slow and that always brings the prices down

It's been an asset led period in the economy where cash in the bank is pointless and credit is cheap so collectors investment cars did do well. That's probably all coming to an end.

Also I think the ///M has looked overpriced particularly compared to the 3.0 and 3.0Si, put simply is the ///M really worth 2, 3 or even 4 times more? Once you strip out the notion that it might be an investment asset and look at it in the cold light of day as a car, it isn't. Big tax and perceived maintenance costs won't help either.

It will be interesting to see where the performance and collector car markets go, I remember the classic and investment car bubble bursting in about 1990, it looks like a re-run is underway and once the chatter starts people bail out, slowly at first as sellers hold out for their price, then reality kicks in and they sell at a loss. It happened big style in 1990 and I'm sure it will again.

Me? I'm pencilling in a cheeky classic purchase for about 2020-21 as I predict some big price drops particularly for cars that have been over-hyped in the bubble :)

I probably bought mine at the wrong time ( 2 odd months ago for 20k with 54k on it , z4mc that is ) But if I do end up loosing a bit it won’t keep me up at night . These cars are the low end of performance cars / collectors items .... if I’d ‘invested ‘ some serious money in a old Porsche recently for inflated prices I’d be very worried

They are at the low end so whilst prices my drop, I don't think you'll see less than 10 and 15k for a well presented roadster or coupe respectively. Take all of the "future classic" BS out of the equation and they are still one of the last proper drivers cars that isn't hamstrung by complicated electronics and that can be maintained predominantly by an enthusiast. For me the draw of the car is it's somewhat dated looks, large panel gaps and angular shape indicating a somewhat basic car in relation to todays cars. Then there's the engine, the clunky gear shift, the crashy and possibly overly stiff suspension - it all adds up to make it something quite unique that will always appeal to the car lover.

The world is a very different place to that period, and we are still in short supply compared to the global demand for classic performance cars. I've got a gut feeling that 2020 will come along and people will go, oh, Brexit, that seemed a lot of hot air over nothing....
