M front disc's and pads

Lol.

2 guys owned an M Roadster or Coupe and didn't know it had the wrong rotors on it. I mean, if your buying this kind of car - you probably should know a bit about it. I think I would spot those rotors a mile away, as the correct rotors are drilled.

Well you would now somebody pointed it out :poke:

Paza has no excuse ; the OP hasn't any prior experience of an M so that's a little bit harsh. When I bought my first Z I could see the tarmac down through the engine bay - didn't even register that there was an undertray missing until a few weeks later. Some things you just don't register I guess.

Actually, rotors would be the first thing I'd check - looking at their condition can you you an indication of how the car was driven. I'd also would be looking at the pads to see if it still had the BMW factory dust makers on there.

I think this should have been done before i looked at the car really, i don't do a lot of searching on here and going by the posts i had seen by Patrick all seemed well, i do have the task of getting the car straight now though.

Funnily enough I've been in contact with the bloke from Scotland who owned the car, he's after another M coupe now as it goes, nice chap and liked a track day or two, so thats why i want to do another inspection 2 next year as i want the car spot on. May cost me a few quid but I'm planning on keeping the car for a few years.

paza...... absolutely disgusted at that forum member for this.... Their is no a chance on EARTH he didn't know about this. Totally disgraceful, he should be banned from this forum imo or at LEAST banned from selling anything on the forum. One thing you can't mess around with is brakes, if this was me, i can tell you know, paza would be seeing me at his front door for a chat. Playing with peoples lives with no regard.

It was indeed, sent me a few pics of the car when he had it, looked good with the black roof and that IMO

Kingash are the old ones completely knackered? Ie have no value to you???? If so could I please have them for a little project I am thinking of doing.

Well here's the thing... They're not M disc on it, they are too small. Smaller then the rears as it goes, i dont know what they are off at the moment as the car isn't going in yet, but i think somewhere along the line someone has just stuck "z4 discs" on and thought it was fine, or they have tried cutting cost corners. Either way im left with a big bill and crap brakes.

Here's a pic of the front, you can see the unusual wear... And how small the discs are

He sold his Roadster? He only bought that off ME about 6 weeks ago! + these are the wheels from it as he swapped them over!

(which means he even saw the disc when he swapped the wheels)

Yeah the CSL he had on the coupe when he got it detailed were on the roady when i went down

He sold it already....... I am hurt :(

All he does is buy cars and sell them again, or at least that's all he's done recently...

Hmm. I saw the coupe very shortly after he got it. I thought he said he'd bought it from a dealer who wanted shot of it but my memory may be faulty. He did say he'd bought it in Aberdeen and that within a few miles of setting out en route home the engine warning light came on and he was actually on the way home from an Indy having had it fixed. No mention of brakes, it had dark replica CSLs on it.

A few days later I swear I saw it pull past the front of Ebley Tyres in Cirencester where I was waiting while Immie was being MOT'd. No personal plate on it so I assumed it was another one. Anyway, if the new owner is in or around Cirencester do say hi as I'm local.

Hope you get it sorted.

I thought Paza lived near you Stuart ?

Yeah he did say that Stuart lived down the road from him, and unfortunately im in essex was a 4 hour drive to get the thing

Been directed here from the thread in the lounge.

That's absolutely shocking and the fact he's chosen to delete many many photo's just makes him look guilty. Silly boy. He'll get what's coming to him.

161511248677 Ebay item ( nothing to do with me)

Part worn M discs and pads. Worth a look ? Might be ok for 12/18 months.
