Cjeep's used them for his quad conversion - however when I visited them for a quote they didn't seem that professional, infact they just wanted to book me in without understanding my requirements

Yeah just looked at the thread. Started in March and last commented on in December. Hopefully he still has the system and its a good price. Thanks for the heads up.

Have emailed them but they're up in Walsall anyway so logistically probably a no go. Also emailed that breakers yard and currently shopping for aftermarket exhaust options. Superspring, Remus, Eisemann etc.

Yes, I read about that too. Well hopefully he gets my PM.

And if anyone else has either a stock or aftermarket system or x-pipe they want shot of I have money waiting!

It would be specialist welding on this system.

Surely the damage is just to stainless steel? This is easily weldable with a MIG or TIG system using the right wire and shielding gas. I've opened and rewelded SS silencers with no problem several times. Is there an exhaust fabricator in your locality you could take it to?

It's not like having to attempt to weld rusty mild steel like in the old days, failing then using "Gun Gum" and a bandage!

If it's also damaged bodywork, then you should make a claim against the Council.

Thanks exdos. Planning on phoning around a few places including fabricators to see what my welding options are. My concern was the stainless but if I can locate a decent welder nearby then that would make sense.

So far BMminiparts have quoted me around £500 for the oem x-pipe.
Hayward and Scott do a full cat back system for £990 and I'm going to phone around stealers, specialists and exhaust fabricators today (with a view to welding).

ETA Motorsport want to check out the damage and assess repair options so may take a trip to Brands Hatch in next few days.

For those interested, this is what ///Molly currently sounds like. Lots of exhaust gases escaping and after jacking her up it seems to be the clamp area to the NS rear can.

This looks like the culprit and area...both sides of join are in bad condition. Near side much worse though.
