Also - ///M owners - please please please check your exhaust flanges [yes, I said it again]. As stock items they are rubbish if youve suffered a lot of road crap so check them before they check you.
No problems there for me, as I've got something similar to you on mine
Did yours disintegrate too? Cannot believe how bad mine was, it was just flaking away!

It was nowhere near as bad, but three exhaust places I took it to originally to put the Diablo on got as far as fitting a spanner to the nut/bolt and then sucking through their teeth and saying they'd probably break it taking it off. So as I didn't have the time to faff around it was put on the back-burner until I had some time off when I could leave the car with someone for a few days (in case they had to order anything - which they did).

The only picture I have of mine from 'before' is the one from the Diablo for sale thread...

And the 'after' picture was texted to me, so it's tiny...

Mmm-Five: not as bad as mine but still ropey looking. Can hear the teeth sucking from here! The Diablo's look awesome and know sound spectacular.

Stuart: not sure mate. Hopefully not too bad and will know when it's done as it's mainly labour of course.

Yeah, thats the one! Like a sort of large, squarish, sunken manhole cover. Avoid avoid avoid!

Latest update. Received an email from TFL (who are responsible for the road) this morning after my complaint was sent to them from Lambeth Council.

Re: Damage to Vehicle – A3 Long Road

Thank you for your correspondence to the London Borough of Lambeth regarding the damage you sustained to your vehicle along the A3 Long Road heading towards Clapham Common Station. This was passed on to Transport for London (TfL), as we are responsible for the management and maintenance of the capital’s Red Routes. I am very sorry to hear about this damage and the financial damage of the incident.

This has been passed on to the relevant Highways Maintenance team so that they can rectify the issue with the pothole. Please be assured that any necessary action will be taken in due course to fix the issue.

Additionally, I have passed this on to our third party claims handlers. They will contact you directly concerning your claim.

Thank you once again for taking the time to contact us regarding this matter. I hope that the information I have provided has been helpful. Should you have any further enquiries then please do write to me again.

Yours sincerely...

Be interesting to hear what the next stage is. Probably them attempting to say the exhaust flange was on its way out anyway!

I spoke too soon....email; received 10 minutes later...

Thank you for your email dated 10 January 2013 reporting a pothole on Long Road (A3). This has been brought to the attention of our maintenance team to investigate.

Unfortunately TfL Customer Services is not in a position to deal with claims against TfL. If you wish to make a claim please contact our third party claims handlers Gallagher Bassett via: [email protected] or PO Box 42501, London, E1 1YB.

I thank you once again for your correspondence. If there is any other matter which I can assist you with please do not hesitate to contact me.

When I was a student I wrote to the local council to complain after a road sign fell from lamp post and damaged my car which was parked beneath it. They passed my claim onto their insurance company who wrote back to say that the sign was checked six months previously and found to be in good order. They more or less stated that I would need to take them to court if I wanted any compensation. For the price of a second hand door mirror I decided not to waste my time and energy. I hope that the relatively recent press regarding damage to vehicles from poorly maintained roads might increase your chances of compensation but I wouldn't hold my breath...

So looks like snow is going to hit the SE today and tomorrow. Absolutely gutted if I cant go pick up ///Molly with her new exhaust setup.

:headbang:

Right, lets do this!

On the train and off to Pluckley in deepest, darkest, snowladenest Kent to pick up ///Molly and her new exhaust setup.

Pray I don't end up in some ditch on the way home!

Good luck inkey$! I just delayed picking up mine until tomorrow at the earliest. Phil from Sytners said they have more snow forecast tomorrow

Still, she's in their secure covered car park, so all is good

Where are all the "DSC Off" sideways action advocates that participate on here?

Seriously, take great care and look after yourselves.

Cheers guys. May try disengaging the DSC once I'm in non-ditch-or-wall territory! Maybe not!

Stuart - must be über frustrating for you mate. Just remember that good things come to those who wait and she'll be all the sweeter after a few extra days tease

Made it back. Not as bad as imagined actually. It's great to get my girl back and stronger than before.

Will create a separate write up with pictures for any other ///M owners out there but Zero Exhaust can be highly recommended.

Roads clearing here today, so if it doesn't freeze into an ice rink, or snow again then I feel a trip to Coventry is in order tomorrow
