M Differences

'M's are only owned by blokes! :?

(The one exception will be along in a minute to prove the rule!)
I think you will fine there are a couple of us women M drivers. There must be few more out there somewhere? Only had it a month and love it, just took two weeks off mainly to drive the car, been great this week with the roof down :) .

 Great colour and great car!

Not really an M difference, more a difference between M models. I read that the suspension is slightly different between M Roadster and M Coupe?

Yes Mark, the dampers are slightly different and the standard alignment is different too. Springs are the same though.

Definately different spring and dampers, my arse can confirm that on a bumpy b road. More dynamic handling all round due to uprated m parts, why do you think they are different part numbers. Non m owners often try to maintain the myth that the m is hardly any different , then spend thousannds trying to replicate one. Stop trying to kid yourselves and go get one ! :fuelfire:

Much faster , much more focused , hard suspension , m badge , different bigger engine , need I say more , its got to be the m that you buy.

M suspension is not M specific, rather an option or standard on 3.0i. That said the axle itself is narrower, different ratios, LSD

Not true.

The so-called M Suspension on the 3.0 is just harder shocks and lower springs.

On the real M, the control arms are different - a quick look at ETK or RealOEM confirms that.

But it is the LSD, the hydraulic power steering and the engine that make all the difference.

The steering is hydraulic on the ///M and electric on the base Z4. Big difference.

What's the big differences you're supposed to feel with this and/or differences in suspension - more feel of the road?

No, just more uncomfortable.

Steering ratio is smaller on the M.

3.0 SI is meant to be a sweeter drive is it not?
