If you go for larger diameter tips then a deeper note will be produced

Mac (neil) and I have the exact same custom muffler but mine has a deeper note due to wider tips

Really? I didnt think the tips would have any affect on this?

Could it be as yours has more mileage? Mine was so quiet at first, but now has a much deeper rumble.

From what Ive read the width and length of the tips will enhance the note (mine are wider and longer than Mac's - His g/f also confirmed this)

I can't wait to see one of your guys cars, I need to hear if it's worth it. I suspect it is, I want that lovely exhaust note and four pipes!

Luke, would i be ok goin as low as 35mm then having 19" wheels on my Zed? Im getting her lowered next week :D

I'd say so mate. What are the size of your new wheels and planned tyres?

Put the 2 pipes on buddy  I have 1 as you know it actually sounds good and is getting better. But i will be putting mine 2nd on soon.

The car is looking great buddy. My new wheels and non Rfts are going on this afternoon :D

So I opened up the back box again to put on the pipe - went for one not two but am very happy with it! I found another chamber at the front if the muffler that was full of wadding still! Removed that sharpish!

When fitting MMs I thought the bypass pipe made it a pretty tight fit to get the muffler back on its brackets so I sunk the bypass pipe into the muffler to be safe! Bit if a long way round I know but I had no time restrictions today!

I believe this works if the diameter of the tips are welded as the outlet for the muffler, if that makes sence!? The standard muffler has around a 40mm ish outlet which gives out a certain amount of gasses. Most of the after market systems weld the tip to the box a the exit without staggering it. So that makes sense (at least to me!) that larger tips (if fitted direct) make for more noise

So, Friday is now booked off so I will be taking off the roof, freeing up the motor (following a couple of guides on here) cleaning and drying everything so it all, hopefully works, then putting it back together!
If it doesn't work my local BMW dealer keeps roof motors on the shelf so will get one same day. Hopefully wont need to though!! Will report back how it goes!
