Luke and his Z - Getting there!

Probably not Ben it was a lot of work and its a labour of love from Luke and myself. But with some arm twisting I might help another member out? You would have to ask Luke as well??? And we have not done it yet if its a mega pain in the bum NO.

After lots of hard work and not even finishing one car. No bloody way are we gonna be doing this for any one else!!!

I'll second that!

Couple of pics from our day...

Hassle getting back box off! What a pain without a disk big enough! Trip to shop sorted that and and ended up with a 7" disk to get through the pipes

We commented on taking a few more shots but it was a hectic afternoon of work and we just wants to get the job done!
Sadly had to call it a night earlier than we'd of wanted

Round 2 to come shortly! (With bumper off from now on!!)

Mat (MachineMonkey) did a great job of the tips and other goodies he brought along. A real grafter! Good to meet you mate

The low rumble on idle was gorgeous! For a second we were tempted to scrap the box idea and pop on straight throughs! Needless to say we saw sense!

Great post agin Luke shame we couldn't get it all done  we both grafted today.

That is a top tip remove the bumper!!! I will be doing some work on mounting brackets this week. Great pic of the weld

So, finally get round to opening the spoiler and testing to see if it fits before it gets packed away again till my birthday at the end of the month

Just rough pics holding it somewhere in place! But I LOVE IT ALREADY! Obviously gotta be painted etc but the shape is lovely! :trampoline:

Brilliant! Let me know how it goes mate. Will just have to take a copy of what you end up with!
Did your wheel hold up fine on the way back then too? Just re-read your txt saying your used half tank of fuel on your journey! Foot down to hear the rumble on the way home then i guess! :driving:

Yes mate i was enjoying bliping the throttle coming down the reves into the roundabouts around Brackly and screaming away :D Yeah it seems to be holding up fine. I was surprised the roads are rubbish at the moment. I think they are worse in Northamptonshie than Oxfordshire. I can send you a set i am actualy making you some. If that guy dose not want your bumper i will take that off your hands. I am planing on going to PH Sunday service this weekend. Its at Suilverstone not far from you i can bring the brackets with me if you want to meet??

Brilliant! Thanks mate :D Yeah, ever since the last cold spot the roads have not been great :( Just gotta pay attention to any holes!
I will keep you posted mate about the bumper
Im not gonna be able to do Sunday though mate. I can pop you postage though through paypal if that helps?
What did you have done to your roof too? Apart from getting soaked whilst doing it! What were you actually doing to it?

Ok if the other guy don't want it i do.

Ok that will work.

The roofer that done the work on the house when we renovated. Was a complete cowboy. We had to get some lead work done around 2 dormer windows. Witch meant taking loads of fascia panels off and i am not a fan of working off ladders!! Its all done now. But the guy has pointed out other things he has done wrong. If i get my hands on him i am going to rip his arms off so he cant do this to other people!!

Hate workers like that. Roofers, you either get really good blokes or useless cowboys on the job. We deal with a lot of them!
Glad its all sorted though now

Sh!t i had some nylock nuts in the boot i was supposed to give you. I am sure the originals will be ok just put some thread lock.

Put a washer under each one. It has worked for me. Tighten the m8 nuts so the tower struts are tight. Then tighten the m8 cap head bolts job done

Hear you go Luke not quite finished but you get the idea. I will send you or meet up with all the extra bits. Heat shield brackets and what not soon.

I gotta say... I love it!! The colour has come out OKish but to be honest I have ordered a couple of cans of plastidip and think I will be spraying these matt black (as well as the mirror caps, kidney grills and centre bottom lip of front bumper!) tops just held on with double sided to get a couple of pics but I'm happy with the shape and how they look on the car

Things that are still in the pipeline : ordered some stainless in (40mm tube) to make a custom back box. Similar to Ranski's and a few others on here. You'll be happy to know Mat I got in some stainless rod for the welder and some sheet too! :D

Still sitting on the keyless entry at the min. Just been so busy not really had much of time to put to that yet. Will get there though!

Been watching lots of videos on Plastidipping the whole car and I'm VERY tempted to do it myself! Reviews look good and there are some decent sellers now in the UK and the results look brilliant! Will keep you posted but around £300 to do the whole car is pretty damn good! :D

Let me know what you think of the spoilers

It's good Luke, kinda looks a little like it has eyebrows now, or miniature wings though! Impressive handywork, not too over the top but noticeably different all the same. I think I like it but it's a 'I need to see it in the flesh' thing before I can give it the full  All credit to you 'new skool' modding guys though! First pic I thought it was megaaaa low but then realised you're on top of the kerb! For some reason that's affecting my view of the spoiler...?!

not keen on that spoiler on any Z4. i always thought it needs to have a bit in the centre to join them together.

btw, very brave reversing over that kerb  was it done on purpose? if so, brilliant
