Luke and his Z - Getting there!

I've still got the first handbrake gaiter I ordered which had single rather than double silver stitching. If anyone can make use of it ill pass it on. I only kept it incase I mucked up this one. I'll post up in the FS section

Great job mate! I got my single stitch available too! Kept it for the same reason!! :D
2 people can now benefit! Horar!

Been a good weekend planning the wiring etc for my push button install.
My plans now are:
Keep the original alarm as it is.
Not use the automatic door opening / closing function cos I don't think I would trust it to work every time! I'd always second guess weather it armed or not!!
So I will be opening and closing the car with the new key fob I did.
I will be putting the transponder from the push start kit in my new key fob so that acts as the new immobiliser. Car will not start without the key being present in the car.

Looking to start this after next weekend :D

Cheers Luke. Glad you did it first as once the old gaiter is off there is that OMG! no going back feeling. When I was sticking it all together with Evostick I must admit I was beginning to wonder why I had started it but it was well worth it. It certainly doesn't look DIY  BTW had a look at your business website earlier, do you have any dealings with a friend of mine Phill Shakesheff from Portable Conveyors at Albrighton?

You don't do things by halfs Luke. Got to admire your enthusiasm to try anything you want!

what glue did you use to secure it, ive got some black with red stitching to fit.
Evo stick instant contact (in the tube) smear a bit on both surfaces and let dry before contact. Sticks instantly funnily enough. Just do a small section at a time. Probably took me about 2 hrs start to finish!
Don't forget some pictures!

Cheers for the help guys, pics will be posted as soon as its done, prob have a go tomorrow night

Gutted the Quad is not on yet! Times just haven't been able to match up the last few weeks
Touch wood this Friday goes to plan and the systems are done!

Just ordered some new disks and pads too for the rear. Which I'll hopefully have to fit Friday morning before MachineMonkey arrives with some goodies :D

Finally got round to finishing and installing the gaiters. Fiddley job especially around the sharp corners but worth the patience!

Let's see the ball sack pic again!

Luke, sorry if it's been covered, what offset are your wheels?

They look superb, just the right amount of poke, I'm just nervous the set I want to buy will stick out too far!

Have just sat and read the whole thread, really great read.

Hi mate, thanks for the comments on the wheels! I love them :D
The offsets are: Fronts 8.5 x 19 ET44 and Rear - 9.5 x 19 ET27
I run a 15mm spacer at the front to push the fronts out slightly more too
I did get my rear arches rolled because of how low the car is, so they fit properly!

Good modding and write up, my zeditis and only kicked in last month or so and have a long list to buy but getting ticked off one by one, your Zed looks great btw, one question...."removal of foam from sound generator" how do i do this myself? Nice to hear the engine more

Easy mod mate. Have a browse here http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=15035&start=165

Thanks a lot for that mate, I love how you spaced the fronts further.

It was the offset of the rears I was buying (off of M3cutters) that worried me, sticking out 36mm more than standard scared me). As I'm not lowering (yet  ) I shouldn't have any issues right?

I'm going to be a further thorn in your side just one more time if that's OK? Your connects2 unit, do you have a link? I've been looking for one that literally just plugs in where the cd changer does but I was having difficulty finding it!

I'm sad you and machine monkey aren't closer, as like the pair of you I like fettling etc, so I'd love to come down to the workshops and get involved. So far this is my least modified car :o

I don't imagine so, no. I ran these for a few weeks without lowering springs on and before rolling the arches and had no issues. Mine are the same figment as the M wheels so proof it fits fine
I bought my connects unit from Ranski on here. No idea where he got it from. Easiest iPod install by far though! Took 2 mins! Drop him a PM and ask him mate :D

So, was speaking with my wife last night and asked her to check the spoiler (as I haven't seen it yet) and make sure it's the right one as there is only 4 more days to raise a dispute if its not the right one! Her response... I don't want to check! Just have a look and see :trampoline: :yeah: will have a gander this evening and take a quick pic or two!

Hi Luke I might have a few jobs to do on Friday suspension bushes!?!? If not and your playing with your zed early fitting brakes I am off all day I might be able to pop over early lend a hand??

I guess we are still on? Can't wait to fit these exhausts.

are you going to be marketing these quad exhausts by any chance, monkey? one hopes very much so
