Lube

I did some research and most seem to suggest white lithium grease on all the metal pivots, then Gummi Pfledge on the rubber seals

Mine gets a sparing squirt of WD40, when I wash the car. Never had any trouble with it. Doesn't go out in the rain much though. :)

Don't use wd40, it's not a lubricant.
And unless you can actually dismantle the pivots and grease them, then don't use grease.
Try the 3in1 oil, at least it will get to the pivots.

Motorcycle spray-on chainlube could be ok for this, it goes on with a low viscosity carrier (hopefully reaching the required pivots) this then evaporates leaving a more gloopy grease to do the lubricating

Nearly suggested that but my experience is it tends to go sticky too quickly and any excess is difficult to remove with a rag, bit messy.
Better some thicker gearbox oil and wipe off excess.
3in1 comes these days in a handy plastic bottle, so easy to apply just a few drops.

gearbox oil, are you sure! Most gearbox oils smell awful and are runny, not designed to 'cling'. Any grease in an aerosol, white lithium for example is very fluid and penetrates the pivot before the carrier fluid evaporates.
