Try the 3in1 oil, at least it will get to the pivots.
gearbox oil, are you sure! Most gearbox oils smell awful and are runny, not designed to 'cling'. Any grease in an aerosol, white lithium for example is very fluid and penetrates the pivot before the carrier fluid evaporates.flybobbie said:Nearly suggested that but my experience is it tends to go sticky too quickly and any excess is difficult to remove with a rag, bit messy.
Better some thicker gearbox oil and wipe off excess.
3in1 comes these days in a handy plastic bottle, so easy to apply just a few drops.
