Low windscreen washer level warning

Yes it does. This one threw me first of all as it only comes on when the fluid is low. It is in the centre light cluster and you can just about make it out in certain lights when not illuminated.

Thanks guys I think my filter in the tank is blocked as I never get the light coming on. Am going to clear it out this weekend.

Does the light illuminate at start-up?

think its only the Ms :idunno:

I dont have one...

til weird cos CJ has a boot open light, others dont :?

boot open light!??!

Have I bought a "lightweight" edition of the zed, that doesn't include these pesky, heavy leds?

I could actually do with a boot open light... Ive often driven off up the street with the boot unlatched :o

facelifts have one, you need to upgrade :poke:

it's the same car symbol that comes up if you have a door open

need a bigger reason than that :D

how CJ has one then :idunno:

There's lots of reasons to upgrade to an M. These include the washer fluid light and the green headlight light. Money well spent in my opinion for these points alone. It's just a pity that BMW couldn't colour match the instrument illumination the same orange lighting as the rest of the dashboard or maybe I'm being picky. :)

Lol. that's the funniest reason for owning an M i've ever read :D

Beaver, can you check to see if this light comes on as a test light when you turn the ignition please. Need to know if its the bulb or the bottle.

Well I have an M and have never noticed a washer fluid warning light! I've been low enough on fluid for the headlight washers to stop so don't know if thats low enough! Also I've checked the M handbook and it doesn't show a washer fluid light in the manual

Doesn't come on with the ignition lamp test on mine, but I'm sure it has come on in the past.

Hmmm.. this is a tricky one.

I've been doing some miles in mine in the last fortnight, and as the washer bottle emptied, the light definitely came on, as it totally surprised me.

At that point, the lights stop washing anymore and you only get windscreen, but then I'm pretty sure the washer-empty light only stays lit actually around that time..

for example.. next day, washer bottle is almost empty, no light. when it actually emptied, again no light.

once id filled it up, it took heeeaapppps of water to get the lights spraying again too. i was quite surprised how dim the xenons get when they're covered in poo.

Sounds odd, mine has never come on either. My filter is definitely blocked so will have a look at the weekend.

Sorry I didn't make this clear. The low washer fluid light does not come on as a test light when you turn the ignition on. This drove me mad at first as I was convinced my dash was faulty. The washer fluid has to be low before it will come on.

I find it hard to believe that a car like the base Z4 (i.e. not an M) doesn't have a washer fluid warning light! It's supposed to be a GT car!
