Need a wind deflector but BMW wanted £100 for this, the Mrs will go nuts if I get both this month + plus of course the purchase of the car, but can I ask, does a defector make much difference.Cheers Swold

Yes it does, particularly for ladies with long hair as it reduces the swirl in the cockpit area (steady everyone......!) so they can arrive at their destination in pristine condition. For us balding blokes its not an issue but the reduced breeze in the back of the neck certainly makes for a more comfortable drive. So to sum up it reduces swirl in the cockpit and stops a pain in the neck.

Hi and welcome, Mafoo was to polite.

:worthless:

Guess that's the leather bondage Wind Deflector for £100. Make sure your happy with it before you part with your cash.

That looks awful, go for the real thing or without I would say ...

I live in Surrey so get some good driving roads 'out in the sticks' as they say, takes about 10 mins to get out of town and there's a lovely road between Lightwater and Camberley, been told to watch out losing the back end? but so far its sticks like glue and don't want to push it to far.

Hi Swold,

Welcome to the forum and Z4 ownership.

You are right about there being some great roads in these parts, in fact if you fancy enjoying your Z on said roads with others join us on our North Hampshire drive out (leaving from Camberley on 8th August) - See our post in "Events & Meets"

Thanks, don't think its the leather deflector one, I wanted the fixed type, I've already got the fixings/attachments for it in place, hoped I would find it in the boot but no luck....damm, the dealer is just going to sell me the middle bit for £100.

Here's is a pic of my new addition to my family, I've seen a few on here with these choices in colours.....seems to be quite popular, I would have loved it in black but couldn't find one with the red seats and apart from the drive that's what sold it to me.

Welcome.

I would second the recommendation for the wind break... doing 70 on the motorway is massivly different with it in place... i can even use my handsfree at 60 mph with the roof down - and the other person still hear what i am saying!

Yeah,Sterling grey is a common :poke: , sorry,popular choice on here,lol :D

Nice z4,welcome

As for the 0-62 stats(if u havnt read this smwr before now,
the 2.5 is 7 seconds
the 3.0i is 5.9(pre facelift)/3.0si is 5.7
"m" rdstr is 5 seconds (aprox).
Having driven all 3,and an Alpina, there is a noticeable diffirence from the 2.5 to the 3.0 ltrs, and to a lesser degree, nbetween the 3.0 and the m's/IMHO :driving:
