Today after dropping my disco off with an orange engine warning light at the garage - my other half turns up in my M which drove perfectly on the way to the garage. Turned the car on and i get three warning lights - the EML, one with a squiggle (sorry not the best tech description) and the orange engine light. The reeves where going up and down on their own and absolutley no power. Did the good old turn it off and on again and lost two of the warning lights, got left with the orange engine one. We had power, but it was a bit lack lustre - limped it to Sytners who cannot look at for 2 days. I am thinking it might be the coils but any thoughts. Fortuantly have an extended warranty so hopefully will not get stung with a bill for either.
Synters where fairly adamant that the car should not be driven with that orange light on and advised my warranty may be void if i go away and something serious happens (last time i had a coil go in my TT, it basically caught fire, melted and effected a valve and caused an enigne rebuild with no warranty) so left it there as somewhat over cautious, meant sticking the other half in a taxi to get him home though. The Landrover guys said fine to keep driving it, but do not thrash it or take it off road but it will be fine, worry if it goes red. Interesting that two manufacturers have different advice for a same coloured warnign light.
Fingers crossed they will both be an easy fix, hope it is not catching and other cars on the drive do not catch it
