Hi Tom, I've bought my car only recently complete with a karb air box and alpha n tune from evolve I believe. Car drives brilliantly.I'm intrigued. Who did the original tune and what's the issue you feel you have with it, and why not go back to them?
I had mine done about 13yrs ago on the south coast with a lot of time on dyno but maybe there's better options these days.
My view is it's a nice to have not a need to have, but happy to be corrected on that. Thanks all appreciate the pointers.
Is the general consensus that a rolling road / Dyno tune is needed for a good outcome?
A good OTS tune should be fine but custom dyno tune will surely extract every bit of hp and optimize the tune. Ideally your tuner will offer you both. Thanks all appreciate the pointers.

Provided your datalogging software is logging the right datapoints, doing your WOT pulls, or colleting part-throttle / part-load data on a dyno or on the road I can't see makes a huge differenceto me there's a benefit in doing it on the road in that you're driving, so you can provide feedback on how the car actually feels...
How many rpm where you at? Was it pulling timing?Hi Tom, I've bought my car only recently complete with a karb air box and alpha n tune from evolve I believe. Car drives brilliantly.
Did my first track day this week at Brands Hatch which was great fun, equally terrifying however it seems that power would be slightly delayed at exactly the same point on the circuit each and every lap. very strange so I thought it may be the tune. car performed well in all other respects.
Coming out of Paddock Hill Bend and up Hailwood Hill if you know the circuit.

I was going to mention fuel starvation too, but mine's been through paddock many times. Had you said after the old hairpin at Donington I would definitely have as my car has lost power there a few times as it approaches a quarter tank. Thing is you really do notice it and obviously it wont do it all the time so I can't believe its that? Was the tank fullish at some point?Hi Tom, I've bought my car only recently complete with a karb air box and alpha n tune from evolve I believe. Car drives brilliantly.

They have a very sensitive traction control, I usually turn it off as it's annoying as hell, you can feel it holding back even when the light doesn't flicker on the dash, old skool nanniesFor posterity if it helps anyone in the future I think it was the DSC kicking in.
Had a whole day at Abingdon and not a blip. Car behaved impeccably, unfortunately couldn't make up for the drivers lack of skill.
Not to mention, it will murder your rear pads with it on.They have a very sensitive traction control, I usually turn it off as it's annoying as hell, you can feel it holding back even when the light doesn't flicker on the dash, old skool nannies![]()
