Looking for a 2009-2011 E89 sDrive30i

Hi all,

New to the forum and hopefully soon to be new to Z4 ownership.

I'm looking for an E89 Z4, mainly looking at sDrive30i's but could possibly be tempted by the right sDrive23i.

I'm happy with mileages up to 100,000 miles, and potentially a bit more.

Ideally I'm after heated seats and rear parking sensors, and the m sport package if I'm pushing it, but would consider a 30i without these.

My budget is on the lower end, I've seen good examples of 30i's sold recently which were advertised for around £8500 and hoping to spend somewhere around this region.

Not sure if I can send or receive DMs as this is a new account, so please do drop a comment.

Thanks!
Rhys

you can dm after making 3 posts, the 30i is a little bit rarer than other models and 8.5k is definately lower end of the budget, not sure I've ever seen a cherished forum 30i sinking that low in price but there has been the odd one that needs some tlc on ebay and autotrader..good luck with your search

Hi and welcome.
I presume you have seen this one?

It is an SE spec model so has the comfortable ride :D

Thanks for the welcome and advice! I totally get you, it's a bit of a push but if it was easy I wouldn't have had to make this post :) . I've been watching ebay and autotrader a lot I don't mind putting in some TLC. The autotrader ad you posted a while ago of the £9,000 30i was a great example of what I'm after, sadly I was too late on that one!

I had seen it earlier and discounted it as I was strongly looking for a 30i initially, and the colour/interior/wheel options don't make me wild, but looking back on it it has some good options, so I may give it another think. Thank you!

In the flesh deep sea blue is one of the best colours that polishes up amazing, those pics dont do the paintwork justice.. that car is good value but the lack of msport seats would put me off personally.

make a list of your must haves and nice but not essentials and go from there..wheels for example are easily changed and often come up for sale on the forum and at your budget should be an item to consider improving at a later date..if you want a 30i hold out for it..the 23i is a great 6 cyl engine with just about enough go and shouldn't be discounted until test driven but may leave you wanting for a little more on occasion..for me i was happy to buy with that engine as the car is just a sunny day cruiser to me and condition, colour combo, se suspension, 6 cylinder n/a and msport heated seats were the driving force behind my choice..i have my 2 wheel toys when i want outright thrills :D ..best of luck

This may not be exactly what your looking for but it's in your budget and seems to have a few goodies, being a 4 pot you can remap it with great results. It's very cheap and I would do a little bit of investigation before any purchase (accident damage/not on the register / mot history/ hpi etc.) https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/4578650438885107/?ref=facebook_story_share

Interesting find, thank you! I hadn't considered remapping, although initial insurance quotes aren't looking too promising (extra £600/year over a 30i).

I ran that car through a HPI check out of curiosity and it's got outstanding finance, so not great. Trying to find out more at the moment.

I am sure you can get insurance pretty cheaply for a mapped car, depending on circumstances, Pondrew may be able to help on that one.

car looks ok but seems to have the pure traction interior, either been swapped out to fitted as an extra

Funny Rick, when I read your description I thought it was going to be this one I spotted this morning.

Steve, I’m not sure what bits you mean but it looks very similar to the pack in my 35 and also the one I’ve just linked. Could of course be me not paying attention and not seeing what you mean

Nearly identical Andy but no iDrive.... the one on Facebook seems too good to be true at that price, but you never know, MOT history seems sound. You would need to do a bit of checking, apparently there's finance on it, could be someone who's lost their job etc.

This 23i just popped up on Ebay

it looks like it has a wood finish around the centre console gearshift area and alu on the dash..might be how that pack normally looks but i dont rightly remember..just looks a bit strange in those pics..looking at the one you linked on gumtree and its the same though so probably its absolutely fine

I think it’s maybe not a great picture, I think it’s gloss black rather than wood. The thing I didn’t like is the ali trim round the heater controls etc with the gloss black pack.

Here’s one of the only pictures I could find of my 35 that shows the right area.

Well welcome to the forum Rhys.

30is seem to be pretty few and far between, but there are usually quite a few 23is to choose from if you want that straight 6 soundtrack!

Good luck with your search anyway.

If that one is a genuine car, even with the mileage, it is an absolute bargain.
There ain't many 18i s with iDrive.

I had a further nosey on Facebook and there are two adverts for the car, same details but different people. Looking at the profiles, they seem to be related and when you search the GPS details that are displayed on the photos of the iDrive the location/street view match the advert/photos.

does seem to good to to be true for a 2013 plate nicely specced at less than what you would expect to be bottom dollar
