Looking for a 2009-2011 E89 sDrive30i

Not sure any extra speed compensates for the 3.0 straight 6 though?
We're all different, nobody is wrong, but it's the 6 that makes the car. IMHO of course. Smooth at low revs but whips round to the rev limit so easily. Quick enough for me that's for sure. Good luck with your search anyway :)

We all know the 4 pot sounds like a tractor and handles like a boat  :poke: :poke:

I have both an N54 (6 pot twin turbo) and N20 (4 pot single turbo) and I like both but in different ways.
From my experience I actually prefer the noise of the N20; much better induction noise than the 6 and burbles and pops on the overrun which I don't get in the 6. Granted the N54 sounds better at lower revs.
The N20 uses half the fuel too :o

For me, it’s the extra torque that makes the turbo4 so good on the road :driving:

To be fair, none of those things have anything to do with the number of cylinders.

Correct, it’s forced induction that’s to blame

Hi all,

Thanks everyone for the help, especially Zed Baron for giving me the lead on remapping a 2l turbo.

I ended up buying a 85,000 mile 2012 20i with all the options I was after (parking sensors, heated seats, m sport, ski package), and have just had it remapped to 260 bhp (on E10, he said may get more power on premium) by p-torque. All within budget including the remap, and then got insurance with the remap declared through Adrian Flux for cheaper than any price comparison site offered unmapped.

So feeling very successful!

Welcome, nice car, just check those pesky 326M s for cracks and keep an eye out on the camchain at that mileage

Thanks for the tips! I'm aware of the potential camchain guide issues, is there anything I can proactively do aside from listening to a growing whining sound?

Change the oil n filter immediately..cut open the filter and inspect for relevant debris, plastics or metal swarf..

Keep changing the oils every 5k / yearly whichever comes first

Check visually for slack / debris

Avoid stop start use , if fitted

Change cam chain /tensioner..

Good to see you have found a Z4 - now the fun begins.
