I connected with your sentiments immediately - at 49 I had a collapse and heart failure - hard on my kids and family.So take care Woots - all the very best wishes for you and your mum.

well we had a bit of a sleep around lunch and then went back to see her....
the brain scans seem to be good we are told and theyve started trying to wake her up, which may take up to a few weeks cos if she panics as she is waking up they say her body may not cope..she started to gag about two hours after coming off the anaesthetic so they put her under again, but its just gonna be a waiting game
while i was sat there so coughed and then raised her arm as if to try and take the tube out of her mouth, so least she can feel it/move her arm...fingers crossed the night is good to her and she may come round tomorrow, then we will see what effect its all had on her..
a nurse is sitting by her bedside the entire night, my sincerest gratification to those who work in the NHS, you dont all get the gratitude you deserve.....

As tough as this is, try and make sure you look after yourself. Eat and sleep when you can.
You will then be in much better shape to help your Mum when she needs you.

but she opened her eyes today even though she is still on a lowish dose of anaesthetic...and i waved at her and she waved back so thats good
and she tried to talk today even with the tube in her mouth etc.....so thats good...she seems to know whats going on
just want her without the air/anaesthetic soon :lol:
We're thinking about you all here in Northampton. We had a complete shock this summer when my then 39 year old wife had to have 2 cancer operations.You just don't expect it at such a young age.We're waiting to find out what the nest step is,truly crap and makes you think about what is truly important in life. Give your Mum a massive hug from all of us on the forum,we're right behind her.
