List of problems.. Back from dealership with more problems..

Idiots :x

I agree, you've done it all by the book. Glad you are rejecting for a new one though, and not dumping the Z entirely

Thanks Bing...

The pics dont really do it justice. It looks bl&%dy awful
I do love the Zed and I have toyed with switching brands / cars but keep coming back to the Zed for the overall package it gives. I just hope that I get somewhere with it and there's no further disappointment.

Looking at the seats again, I don't understand how a BMW manufactured part - surely straight from the OEM supplier - could be so badly finished. And if it was how it ever got through any reasonable quality control test. Perhaps they pulled a fast one and just shipped the seat off to a local supplier to re-cover, rather than shell out on new genuine parts ?

Suppose it doesn't really matter, but the mind boggles at people who would look at that and think - "that looks great, he'll be happy we fixed it this time" :? :x

*sigh* it's things like this that make me wish I had my own BMW dealership and could really make a difference. How could they put the seat cover with suede on the wrong side? Ordered the wrong part and put it on anyway? And when you complain about a clearly visible problem and they repair it, and the problem, again clearly visible, got even worse, you just hand the car back to the customer? If the mechanic just replaced parts not knowing the reason behind it, if it happened that way, I'd think the service manager would have a look after the repair is done to see if the problems are gone. Hope it gets all sorted out well now.

Just so frustrating for you, good luck and hope they accept the rejection

You must have the patience of a saint! Having read various other forum members' tales of woe with dealerships - not least Carol's PDC battle - you really wonder who exactly these "trained technicians" are. How in hell could they not have noticed that they fitted the wrong seat base? Hopefully Carol might have some very useful advice when it comes to taking this to the next step... best of luck with it all JDM

Sorry to hear this John. Regrettably I wasn't surprised. I haven't ever heard a decent word about Halliwell Jones from people on here who've used them.

I hope you are successful - you should use your BMWCCGB subscription you won and write to them - they got a great result recently for an owner on an expensive warranty claim when the dealer was only prepared to ask BMW for 2/3 contribution. Maybe they can help you get the car replaced...? Best of luck,

Steve

I read about that too.... it's got to be worth a try

This is officially the most pist off a thread on any forum has made me! :headbang:
From what I have read, if it was me I would have ended driving into the dealership with the car, :driving: camly walked out and said... "I'm officially rejecting the car! here's the keys!"
Therefore you are better man than me JDM.

Right.

I haven't heard anything from the dealership as yet. I tried to speak with the DP this morning but was told he was with someone. I was told he had received my email and letter and would call me when he was free.. That was at 10.30am.

In the meantime I have received a phonecall back from BMW Financial Services who have launched an investigation. I have sent them all the correspondence from back in April when I collected the car up to my rejection letter yesterday.

I am just praying that they can put some leverage on to the dealership to get this sorted out.

If nothing comes of it then I will be persuing your recommendation Steve and go down the BMWCCGB route.

I will update when I know more. :|

Holy crap, that is so disappointing.

I'm in my hotel room at Disney nursing a migraine (sadly not alcohol induced), but I was wondering why I hadn't seen Mickey Mouse yet.

Turns out he's in England fixing your car!

Good luck with the rejection, let's hope they finally do the right thing!

This dealership is really starting to anoy me and I've never even been there. So the DP has been busy all day? I would think the problems your experiencing John should be at the top of the list not you will receive a call when the person is free. I imagine though he or she is probably working through all the other customer complaints. Their service is a disgrace

Tim.

Tim, don't get me started on it. I really am at bursting point with it all..

You really would think that they would be bending over backwards to try and sort it all out wouldn't you.

I sent this email to the DP about an hour ago, but still no reply..

Dear ****,

I understand from discussions with your Secretary at 10.30am this morning that you have received my email and will call me back when you are free.

I just wanted to make you aware that the rattling and buzzing from underneath the passenger air bag area to the dash is still present. I was driving back from Sheffield this afternoon on the M1 and it started and lasted for a good fifteen minutes. **** assured me that this had been dealt with.

I also should let you know that I have been in contact with BMW Financial Services about the rejection and they are investigating the situation.

I have sent them copies of all my emails and letters to your dealership from 23rd April to 10th September inclusive.

I would appreciate a call from you when you are free to discuss the way forward from here.

Kind Regards

Mr J D Mason

Had a conversation with the DP this afternoon.

He was very apologetic and embarrassed over what has happened. He said that he doesn't think that the car is worthy of rejection but what he will do is order me a brand new car, whatever spec I want and whatever car I want and he will heavily discount it.. He assured me that the deal I will get will be better than the one I had in the first place... They will take out all profit margins etc..

So the big questions what do I go for?

To be honest I'm considering steering away from the zed with all the issues I've had and with leaking issues others are experiencing.. Got back in the car this evening to leave work after it had been in the office car park all afternoon in the rain to find water running down the drivers door card and tweeter again :headbang:

I am seriously thinking about a new 328i M sport. I have specced one up online and it comes out at what the list price of the zed was before discounts.... Around 36.5k.

Overall I am very pleased with the outcome and couldn't have requested anything better...

These are pics of the 3 series m sport if people haven't seen them...

Looks much better than the standard sport...

Congratulations mate....get the 5 over the 3 if you're getting a 4 door. I think the 5 is better looking mate

Thanks Stark. I had a 5 as a courtesy car for the last month. Lovely car but a tad on the big side for me and a tad pricey with all the options...

Sounds like he is trying to put things right. Take your time and test drive a few cars. Or, ask if they have an AUC M3. Someone will have taken all the depreciation and you'll have a cracking car. You'll get a good one in that sort of budget
