Lights washers OFF!

Any chance I could disable the front washers for the lights? I find this awful after I just washed and polished the car!!

You could remove the pump, but if you're going to drive it after washing & waxing anyway, then it's going to get dirty again!

Just leave it in the garage.

On this side of the pond, the headlight washers only work if the lights are turned on. Of course, washing the windshield gets the car dirty too.... :poke:

Think it should have a separate button for washing the lights, would make it easier for me. But I'll switch the lights off from now on. Cheers!

I switch the lights off as well. As you say, clean car, tiny bit of salt on the window and the whole car looks a mess after spraying the windscreen.

everything you need to know is here http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187621

That post pungo suggests is exactly the way I would go about it.

If you take it one step further and not covered by the post the headlight washer units are hydraulically powered so will not rise until they actually start pumping.

Something I think I'll do for Summer when you may need to clean dust off the screen without washing half the car in screen wash

Had a similar problem when i had my S2000, the spray button was on the console between the seats and my elbow would always hit that button :x .Didn't need lights on just ignition, PITA when you'd just polished the car. :D

Anyone tried this? Remove fuse, or remove pump, or remove both?

I'm paranoid about losing the cover from the pop-up headlamp cleaners - happened on my last car. I don't think they do anything worthwhile anyway, as I always keep my headlamps clean doing it myself.

Cheers
Ally

I removed the fuse the other day as i hate the mess they leave and there is now less chance of me loosing another cover! Fuse is easily marked up doddle of a job!
