Light out warning and blinkers speed increased. But no lights out.

Hi all.

Odd one for everyone. I got a warning light on the dash last week as I was driving. Went to turn right and the indicator speed increased. Thought to myself as I was driving that it saved me having to find which bulb it was as I now knew it was one of the right indicator bulbs. Nope.

Tried hazards and isolating using just indicator stalk but all three lights are working. They are flashing fast though.

The only light that's out one of the rear reg lights but that's hardly the issue?
Any ideas anyone.. Its confusing me...

There are two bulbs in the front indicator unit. Check both are working.

Are you running LED,s?
If so the resistors go bad and cause problems.

Are you running LED,s?
If so the resistors go bad and cause problems.

I have LEDs low beams but my ambers are all still halogen. Thanks for the advice though!

Rubbish, only works 50% of the time. :wink:

Two weeks later and still stumped mate.
I've checked the unit and there's no bulbs out. I have aftermarket units and there's only one amber bulb in there.

When the hazards are on, the lights blink normally.
I've ran a code check and the code reader isn't even recognising that there's a fault!?

Literally have no idea what the issue is.

Only difference is the switch. Could try a different stalk?

I'd expect if it was the stalk that the other one would act up too, no?

Not if there is a dodgy connection on just the right side within the switch.
I think my troubleshooting would simply be to fit another stalk tbh.

Been away with work mate, apologies for the delay. Appreciate the feedback. Someone at work suggested that maybe there's a weird connection situation going on. So you said the front has two bulbs, right? And I've got aftermarket units with a single bulb in it. So he suggested maybe someone hid the additional connector away and did a botch job and it's now sorta having a moment?
Any thoughts on that theory.

As for the stalk theory, would they be difficult to find? Can't imagine they come up often on the forum tbh..

The replacement lights usually connect to the standard plug, not sure there would be a connector left over?

No idea. I couldn't find a spare one to be fair.
It's driving me insane.

By coincidence, my Exige did this intermittently for a couple of days a few weeks ago, but it seems to have healed itself for now...
We had extremely heavy rain for several days and I suspect it was instrumental.
