Bit late to the party, but.. My 2p.

I would stick with a stand for the larger size in a lounge, as wall mounting would cause everyone to "look up" whilst watching, giving neck ache!

In our lounge we have recently gone from a 50" Samsung to a 65" non-curved Samsung. Reason being is that the distance between TV and back wall where biggest sofa and therefore my seat is situated, is around 6.5m and I struggle to read the Sky planner without my glasses!

In the bedroom, I go for wall mounting every time, higher than you would normally, so that sitting/laying in bed it is comfortable to watch without straining.

Mike.

Hi gov - for your size lounge that will not work properly to go that big. Have a look at this distance calculator to get an idea of where you should sit relative to the TV:

(and no - Carol has a Merc now)

Thanks - yes I guessed it would be too big for the room - anyway as I have to do as I'm told I have no chance of getting a bigger telly :(

Must have missed that about Carol's car :D

You and Carol are very alike when it comes to cars, the main difference being that you talk a lot about selling your Z every 6 months, but Carol actually does it

You're probably right - as well as being " thrifty " I hate changing cars - as you know we have a Fiesta that we've had from new ( 2004 ) and our 27 year old Campervan for 9 years - pretty relaxed now about keeping the zed - yes could afford a new zed or even a new Boxster but my paranoia about keeping it totally unmarked would ruin the experience - sad but there it is :(

I'm old fashioned so have gone with a cabinet in the corner at low level.

The TV I get but it must be a right PITA when that kettle boils :D

Don't need to answer any question PVR did it for me, thanks! :D

We're really pleased with end result. I'm not bothered about the plug either!

On the wall, every time.

My 4 are all on the wall, not a cable in sight, means a corner of the room isn't taken up by a cabinet

So where do you keep the virgin/ sky box and all the other parafinalia that goes with it?

They go through the wall behind the wall mounted fire into the cupboard which houses Sky box and Amp......

Wall. Always wall.
And if you can. A FLOATING wall
