Hmmm. This may be my problem. But if I do that and they still don't fit then I can't return them.

Have you tried to get them out again ? I noticed that there's no little slot to get a wee screwdriver in like the OEM holders.
 
Ok, a lot. But it was only a fiver difference and if I'm being honest I was being a bit tight about it :P

Thats the Scottish coming out in you mate :lol: i'd do the same tbh!

Seems a bit odd they won't fit properly.

When I re-fitted my oem ones I bent the metal clip out of position so they wouldn't sit well. I eventually stuck a bit of foam tape on them and they sit lovely now.

I have proved my competence today :lol:

This is, however, a mechanical issue. I'll try it without the gasket. As it happens I bought some LEDs for the interior, that I have used, so whilst not as bright as PVRs were before they failed, the don't flicker anymore.

Those clips are a PITA, PVRs link on page 1 is a good guide as to how to bend them back
 
Well removing the foam gaskett didn't work. Got it most of the way in, but the last few mm defeated me. I'm not so fed up though, as these units are at least twice if not three times the thickness of the OEM ones and are very visible because of that. Which doesn't look nice. Can't help thinking they sent the wrong ones, but I can't return them now... Think I'll just get a couple of cheap multi-LED bulbs like pvr had in originally.

Cheers Jonny, I don't need the fiver but it's appreciated.

Thing is, are they slim like OEM ? The ones I got are about 4mm thick round the edge, and I think wider overall, so they are really visible and I don't like it.

Steve - I have a couple of LEDs in that I got for the interior right now. I want the whole units, and will get some eventually, but they'll have cost me £50 :oops:

They don't sound like mine at all, but look exactly the same, mine also have a little screwdriver slot on the spring clip side. I think I spent 10 mins fitting them. There not 4mm thick either.
 
Just checked my ebay history and I bought from the same seller back in May. Unless they are selling different units now.
 
I had canbus LED's fitted to my stock holders back in 2009.. both still fine, cost under £5 and are super bright.
 
Bought the ones on Jonny's recommendation since mine were rattling around and kept dropping down. They're pretty good!

Big solid plastic units, perfectly sealed and the LEDs are ermm... VERY bright!

Yeah, but if you look carefully you can see the edges of the lights from above - not so bad on a black car, but you can't see the OEM ones, and I thought it would irritate me. I can't return mine now as I removed the rubber from one, so I may have an attempt at a DIY fix. Bound to go wrong :lol:

Without having tried, I think this is the case though it doesn't seem to be completely sealed. You could probably pop the LED unit out I think, but I'm not sure there is any way to meld the two together. However, might as well see what I can achieve as otherwise they will just sit in a drawer forever as I can't sell them on if they don't (currently) fit my car. I will take pics of whatever I do, even if it ends in disaster - if I can't give anything practical to the forum through the process I may as well provide some amusement :D

Does anyone want to donate an OEM holder so I don't have to worry about butchering mine ? If I don't think anything can be done I'll send it back intact :thumbsup:
