Leather hard seat back

The back hard cover keeps falling off my drivers seat. The white clips on the bottom of the cover look to be fine, I cant fathom what they actually clip on to inside the seat. Is there a simple knack to putting these back on properly, or might there be a broken clip somewhere I can’t see within the seat?

my seat back was falling off all the time. looks like the seatback locates, then an expanding clip type thing pushes through two holes and clips it in place. i think one or both of my holes had broken, so the seatback could just slip out.

in the end i put the seatback in the right place, then zip tied it in at the bottom. then sold the car.

Well we’ve established that is a relatively common problem, there’s at least 3 of us :D

All we need now is someone to tell us why it happens and how to fix it  p

N.B as above..wasn’t me that sold the car, I’m still trying to fix my seat.

What leather back?

Mine is a black suede-like material with a pocket at the bottom :?

Sorry, that's just the forums reply function throwing a fit. I don't know why, but it keeps posting my replies to other members who have posted in the thread. And sorry for the sarcasm, it's my twisted sense of humour :?

I don't know what the clips looks like on the seat back but I have had lots of success 3d printing or otherwise fabricating new clips for many other bits of my car.
I will have a ganders on realoem or maybe someone can post some pictures, I am sure we can work out a way to properly fix broken seat backs.

No problem, I am all for humour, sarcasm or otherwise delivered.

I will go and take some photos, not difficult as the bloody thing removes itself :D

Good man

Nice one :) If the clips or locating holes are relatively simple I am sure something can be fashioned to fit.

Here is the seat back and a close up of the clip(s). They both look the same, so either they are both broken or they are actually OK and the problem is with whatever they attach to.

Mine did same thing. I had gotten a new back and clips but shortly after replaced with sparcos so no issue since :D

Would you consider sharing your .STL files? Please :-)

From what happened to yours, do the clips in the picture seem intact? Which part if yours was broken?

It's strange that the clips actually look intact.
Has the area they locate into on the seat deformed?
Do you know if the seat back pops out easily from the top or bottom?

I think it tends to pop out from the bottom (ooh matron). Hard to know if it’s deformed, what is the area they locate into meant to look like, what do those white clips attach to? I’ll take a picture of area they go into a bit later.

The tops clips locate as shown on this image.

So it must be the bottom ones that let loose. I can't find any images of where they locate.
I think making a better bottom clip would solve the issue.
I have even seen people have glued the whole thing back on with no more nails! :|

Here’s where it goes into the seat . I am not sure what those white clips are meant to attach to, as once you get the back into place obviously you can’t see anything.
