Least seen BMW....

.....just done 600 miles this weekend, and it just occurred to me that I've not seen a single 2 series on the roads yet. Not anywhere.

Is it just me?

One of the blokes at work has one.

They are a one series coupe, so you might have seen one and not realised.

Must admit I though you were going to say Jonny Essex's car, as that's never seen on the road.

There's been a couple around locally but I've seen quite a few around the City - so I wonder if they're becoming a popular choice as a company car with the lower echelons whose car allowance won't stretch to a 3/4 series ('cos a two-series must be better than a one-series )

M235 gets very good reviews

And sounds very good too.

There's someone down the road from me who has picked one up and has the tendency to give it the beans.

Chris Harris ran an M235i for a while fitted with some nice Performance goodies, he loved his.

I test drove an M235i convertible, I thought it drove really well, quick and sounded amazing with the top down. I just preferred the 4 series and wanted the comfort of 4 wheel drive

Oh and the look of the 2 series is an acquired taste

M235 is a great piece of kit. Almost bought one,but ordered my 35is instead. Handle great.
Had this one for couple of days.

Had a good look at both a coupe and a cabrio at the dealership this weekend while getting the 5 serviced. Lower down the range looked like quite a lot of car for the money (even if the 218i is a 3 cylinder 1.5!) but specced up they were silly money IMHO. The 235i seems like a bit of a special case - I can see the appeal of it even with that price tag at least until the M2 comes along - but would never pay what they were asking for the 220d or 228i with leather and the toys. 3 & 4 series interior quality is definitely a real step up, but I wouldn't say the 2 series compared badly to the E89.

My main question which none of the staff could answer was actually why are ginger rear indicators back on the menu for BMW (both the 2 and the 4)?! Seems like another cynical ploy to make for an easy facelift in a year or two's time just like with the E85. I mean orange indicators were old school even in 2002!
