Le Mans 24 Hours, 11th & 12th June 2011

Arnage at daybreak is certainly on the plans  - Lucy has my mobile number as I don't have a PMR (Siftah's the techie in our group!)

Happy to take recommendations on the radios though, as that might be handy for meets too.

When are you expecting to arrive - hopefully we'll be there Thurs afternoon ('ish) after taking the Portsmouth - Le Harve fast cat crossing (£140 return) and saves a few kms :)

Yeah I have a pair of motorola T7 PMR's with throat microphones purely for car runs - ok you sound like a dalek but they do work reasonably well for car to car comms with the roof down at motorway speeds (ear piece in left ear, PTT button on shirt pocket).

I also take a small 200w inverter/power pack which I picked up at maplin last year - its good as a giant battery for charging phones, cameras and radios etc - most campsites don't have A/C mains.

Last year we arrived about mid afternoon on Thursday from memory - I remember the torrential rain and not needing a mallet to bash the tent pegs in the ground - hoping for scorching sun this time - all well and good the first beer shall be opened shortly after assembling the tents and air beds (well worth having them!) 8) :D

Just booked my eurotunnel - going over Friday morning and coming back Monday. Currently in convoy with a red 355 spider and a black 997. Can't wait, will keep my eyes peeled for any fellow Z4ers.

What times are people crossing for Thursday / Monday? About to book and always more fun to drive down in convoy.

Has anyone ordered stickers yet :)?

Just a subtle rear window sticker (600*500 in racing custard yellow!) and a PH GB sticker so far.

How about yourself?

p.s. Trying to convince SK93 that he wants to come too!

Should be getting some bonnet vinyl's and door/window ones with the driver and co pilot names :-)

Rear window sticker won't be much use in a roadster with the roof down ;)

Also getting t shirts - not long now and getting rather hyped about it!

I think we're doing a good job of persuading him on Twitter! He seems pretty tempted :D

Do you have permission to mess with Lucy's hair - rather you than me mate if she ends up looking like she's been dragged through a bush backwards.

Ps the wife thinks your Adam and Lucy green sunstrip sounds very 70s. Sk93 taking a long time to decide so probably a no.

Cool, I'll give it a friendly ruffle next time then!

Ragging the m more than makes up for a bit of comb work later
