Adam re making good progress watch for speed traps in France its fucking pricey if you get caught and can get very messy banned on the spot i stick to 90mph max in 85mph limits not worth the hassle your gonna get check out Pistonheads saw loads of speed traps last year loads :(

Sound advice, I've done le mans before and several eurotrips and yet to be bothered. The Gendarme will be out in force with sneaky tactics  for those looking to find their VMax I would wait until you are >100 miles away from the ports.

We cruised at 85/90 last year with no unwanted attention, just make sure your car is in good order, lights switched over to continental driving and that you have your warning triangle, spare bulbs and couple of yellow jackets stowed in the cabin behind the seats. Eurotunnel also offer a reasonably priced personal holiday insurance and breakdown insurance package, worth £50 for peace of mind to cover the car and upto 8 occupants.

Don't take any speed trap detectors

None of my mates fancy joining on road trips this summer as "it won't be the same in my Clio" etc etc. I can only bring one person!

Never been so would love to travel down with someone who knows the better roads to take, good place to camp etc so I don't end up miles away from anything decent.

Camped for Spa last year and was a laugh so up for being in the thick of it again.

Anyone mind a tag-along?

All,

Thinking of trying to camp at Arnage as it looks like a cracking place to watch - any idea how long it would take to walk to the pits / Dunlop from there?

30-40 minutes.... although we were using a maglight to see the road and it was 3am and running on a combination of fizzy drinks and nutella crepes

Arnage for sunrise is magical :D

Thanks AD, called some recommended ticket agents today from BeerMountain.

Looks like we are staying Houx Annexe (or Kart Nord for extra £18), or Blue Nord. Will also buy GA tickets through them plus poss 2x grandstand to share between 6. Think we will buy Eurotunnel separately to save money.

Really looking forward to this now :D

We have 6 tickets for Stand 21 :) Its the one opposite the pits and last year I was right on the start line across from the Rolex clock :)

Glad you found some tickets, make sure you drop me your details before the trip and we will try and catch up with beer - we usually take PMR short range radios too for the convoy/useful for finding your buddies around the track :) I would recommend Karting Nord as that is not too far to walk from memory, Houx has been known to be a bit troublesome in the past with theives (was reading about it on pistonheads).

We will be up on the inside of Tetre Rouge.

Looks like I've found something in Garage Vert with Siftah - looking forward to it already.

Probably going via Portsmouth - so if you're in a Zed and a Montego blue coupe's flashing it's lights at you - that's me! :driving:

Excellent! Siftah has my phone number so get him to call/text me or something and we'll meet up with you guys

Looking at the map we won't be far from Garage Vert (think our encampment is just north east of the E12 symbol) - be great to chat over a few beers with some other Zedders!

If anyone has PMR radios (http://www.motorola.com/Business/XU...r+Two-Way+Radios/T8+Walkie+Talkie+Radio_XF-EN) then I will update this thread with the channel/subchannel we will be using nearer the time - that way its easy to find people on site without racking up a monster phone bill

Hope all are up for a wander to Arnage for daybreak! 8)
